Chris was kind of cranky after his visit to Caritas with Lana last night.

So he decided to hole up in the common room with mindless daytime television and sugary cereal as company.

"Miss Lulu is an awesome teacher. And we share Ethics." Ino made a face, "He was my partner for the midterm and didn't even show up to class." He'd had a good reason, but still.

"Miss Lulu? God, what a name for a sex ed teacher because yeah, I get this image in my head associated with that name. Not pretty." He made a face. "Does Kabuto know you are kind of his girlfriend?"

"What sort of image?" Ino asked dubiously, "And yeah, he knows. He's even fallen asleep with his head in my lap. And we went to Homecoming together. We're not exactly serious about it though so..."

"You don't want to know but I will say that it involves polka-dots," he said and maybe he was just flashing back to a certain grade school teacher he had. Ugh. "Oh. Well. All right. Kind of weird though, you got to admit."

Polka dots and Miss Lulu were a bad enough mental image. Ino winced. "What's weird about it?" She asked with an innocent grin, "We get along in our own way. Kinda."

"Yeah, that's what's weird. A kind of girlfriend and kind of boyfriend situation? Weeeeeird." What? He had to tease her. She was right there, just asking for it.

"Not every relationship has to be lovey-dovey." She retorted, still smiling, "I'd be out of my mind with boredom in a relationship like that. Geez."

"I don't know, the lovey-dovey can be so damn great," he said, thinking of yesterday and the other night and... yeah... ohh happy place.

Ino rolled her eyes, "For some people, I guess. You're a romantic then?"

Johnny stretched his legs out. "Uhh... I don't know."

"How can you not know?" Ino asked, puzzled.

He shrugged. "What is a romantic to you?"

"Grand gestures." Ino said promptly, "Passion. Fire. Hearts and flowers. It's a lot of things. Commitment."

"Passion, fire, flowers... I'm working on commitment. So yeah, I guess you could say I am a romantic."

"It's sweet." Ino said sincerely, "And I wouldn't mind that some of the time. But if that was everything, I'd get more. I need more... spice."

Johnny grinned. "I get that because I need it too, and Savannah, my girlfriend? She's all about the spice."

"I haven't met her yet. Think I'd like her?" Ino grinned back, "Also? Paranoia can be fun in a relationship. If Kabuto got me flowers I'd suspect that he'd done something to them."

"Oh yeah. Savannah is great and very likeable. She's got a hot temper though and she is very possessive of me, so don't be flirting, Ino," he said, smiling. "Uh... why like someone who you're afraid of?"

"The only 'flirting' I'd be doing with you is kicking your butt." Or at least trying to. Ino shrugged, looking unconcerned, "Because the muns find it hilarious. He's promised not to kill me while we're here. So, I'm not really afraid of him. It's a challenge. I like that." She'd never claimed it was a healthy relationship.

He laughed. "You mean trying to kick my butt, don't you?" Johnny just shook his head. "I'm not every going to understand that, you know that right?"

"I'll kick your butt eventually." Ino said confidently, "I just have to come up with a good enough plan. Your fire is totally an unfair advantage." She shrugged, "I don't expect people to, I know it's weird."

"My fire is simply me darling. You want to kick my butt?" he leaned towards her. "You're totally going to have to come up with an excellent way to do it." Johnny was such a tease. "You're just weird."

Ino stuck her tongue out at him. "So what if I am? You're the one that can light yourself on fire. That's pretty weird."

"No, that is totally hot," he quipped, grinning like the dork he can be.

She rolled her eyes, giggling, "That was just awful." He was such a dork. "It's still weird."
