2nd Floor Common Room, Saturday Night

Bart was making pie.

Why Bart was making pie might be a mystery unless you were the owner of a panduppy named Gulliver. But there he was. Whipping cream for the top of a pumpkin pie.

He might be going a little over board, but super speed made a person board easily and the different types of pie kept him busy. He missed his pie class.

[[OOC: Open, as common rooms are. Pies are moddable!]]

"Not yet. That's one I haven't heard of," replied Hoshi.

"I'm from the future, actually," said Hoshi. "I come from about 140 years in the future. So, you're the only one here who can speak Interlac?"

"Wow," said Hoshi, amazed. "You're from a lot further in time than where I'm from. Are there any Vulcans where you come from?"

"Why were they keeping you in a lab?" asked Hoshi. It sounded almost as bad as spending her days isolated from all the other kids her age because she was gifted and needed special tutors.

"Good for her. Your grandma sounds like a good woman," said Hoshi, nodding in approval. "And sure, go ahead."

"So, tell me more about Interlac," suggested Hoshi, who of course had to get back to the language she hadn't learned yet. She mastered Quechua weeks ago and needed a new challenge.

"It must be based on some sort of universal translation matrix," said Hoshi eagerly. "Everyone is capable of learning it, right?"

"A truly universal linguacode," murmured Hoshi in amazement. "If this is what I think it is, it could completely redefine the study of linguistics."

Hoshi was just blown away by what the discovery of a universal linguacode could mean to the developing Starfleet back home. "You're going to have to teach me to speak Interlac," she said.

Hoshi listened very carefully, analyzing the words in her mind. "I'm assuming that was a greeting and an introduction since the only part I understood was your name."

//"Hi. My name is Hoshi,"// she said, carefully enunciating each syllable. //"I love pie."//

"It takes some practice to get it perfect," said Hoshi. "How long did it take you to learn English?"
