"Out, damn spot..."

A.J., still rubbing at a splotch of paint that had gotten on his sweater from the insane amounts of therapy painting (you should see the sheets in the room), frowned as he moved into the common room. He needed food, stat, and copious amounts of mindless entertainment. There probably wasn't anything good on TV, anyway, but he figured it was worth a try. He moved over to the cupboard to start rooting around for something easy to make, muttering under his breath about where were all the people cooking wonderful delicious food now.

Adam laughed, shaking his head. "Not really no. I mean, I'm okay with certain things but I have a long way to go before I qualify as a well rounded cook."

"I can make grilled cheese and milkshakes," A.J. admitted. "That's about it, man. It goes with the whole artist thing. If you have artistic ability, you can't cook. Thus? Starving artist."

He nodded slightly, another light grin. It was just a fact.

"Hey, it's a start," Adam grinned. "Yeah, seems the way of the world," he chuckled.

A.J. seemed content to just grab a soda from the fridge for the moment and let out a slight sigh as he opened it. "So, how've you been, man?" he asked, taking a sip of the drink.

"I've been good," Adam smiled. "Classes have been keeping me busy, how about you? Haven't seen you in some time."

"Been busy," A.J. shrugged a little. "Lots of projects going on. Like..." He paused a minute, biting his lip as his fingers moved in a silent count. "Uh, a lot."

"Sure sounds like it," Adam let out a low whistle, taking in the amount of counting A.J. had done. "And here I thought I had a lot going on," he smirked.

A.J.'s head ducked a little, and he shook his head, waving a hand. "Nah, they're just projects. Little stuff. Nothing big, or anything. Helps...y'know, get my mind off stuff."

"Yeah," Adam did get it. "That's cool. Whatever helps, right?"

"Amen!" A.J. proclaimed confidently, lifting up his can of soda in a toast.

Adam grinned, laughing softly. "How are classes going?"

"No complaints," A.J. nodded. "Art class is awesome, so is shop. Uhh, history is...history. So it's good. Like classes a lot better here. I'm not as expected to be all bookish about it, you know? Good hands on stuff. I'm probably one hundred and ten percent more technical school than college type any day. How're yours?"

"Glad to hear that," Adam smiled, meaning it. "Yeah, these classes are definitely better than the ones I had at Angel Grove High," he agreed. "Mine are great. I'm enjoying learning about Fandom Invasions and how I can prepare for them better."

A.J. chuckled a little. "That would be a great class, yeah. What've you guys covered?"

"It really is," Adam nodded. "Let's see... we've covered dinosaurs, teachers turned into children, zombies, future children and trolls."

"Now that's impressive," A.J. said with a nod. "Of course, I feel weird 'cause I think I've only been in, like, one of them..."

"I actually had a couple experiences in that before I came here," Adam admitted. "So, I figured why not take the class to be better prepared? I've been in two here, so far."

"Before here? Man, how come I got stuck with the crappy, normal school?"

Adam shook his head, smirking. "Trust me. I wanted a normal life. Didn't get it, though," he laughed.

"Well," A.J.'s head tilted just slightly. "What exactly would constitute as normal, anyway?"

"Good question, A.J.," Adam laughed. "I'm not sure we'll ever have an answer for that."

A.J. nodded wisely. Because, you know him, such a wise, wise man. "Exactly."

Oh, he's very wise, yes.

Adam smirked, wondering if a day would come when they would. "I have to admit that if we ever did get an answer? I think I might be a tiny bit scared," he joked.
