The grounds: Friday morning [before classes]
It was a nice enough morning that Karal went down to the stables early, so he'd have time to take Trenor out to graze before opening the library.
The two were making their slow way across the lawn, Trenor occasionally dropping his head to pick at the grass, Karal more than a little distracted as he looked up into the sky, the lead rope loose in his hand.

And where there was a Jeff, this early in the morning, there was also a Nana. Attached to a leash, and not particularly caring much about it. Which is to say that it wasn't so much Jeff walking Nana as Jeff getting dragged by Nana.
And then she paused.
It was that... thing.

He pawed the ground, prompting Karal to look at him in surprise, then jerked his head, flicking the lead rope out of Karal's hand, and leapt happily towards the hairy thing.
He felt as guilty as a horse could, knew he was being a Bad Horse, but it was just too much fun!
"Trenor!" Karal gaped after his horse, frozen in shock.

"NANA!"
In the process, she completely floored Jeff, who hit the ground hard, was dragged along several feet, and then let go of the leash, which skittered over the ground after the panicking dog.
"NANA! COME BACK! THIS IS NO TIME TO REPORT TO SPY TANK COMMAND!"

Trenor whickered and sped up to a canter, following after his playmate, careful not to get to close as he bounced along after her. Karal he ignored completely.
"Spy tank command?" he asked Jeff as crouched next to him.

On the ground, Jeff pushed himself up. A little. Athletic, he was not. "Well," he said, "She's an evil spy tank, there ought to be a command somewhere. I just haven't found it yet."

Karal watched them get farther away, shocked that his horse had behaved so badly, then offered Jeff a hand up, impatient to go after Trenor. "Sunlord, I hope it's on the island somewhere, otherwise finding them is going to prove difficult."

He ran a hand
throughover his hair, and came up dirt. "I think I've turned into a sand monster," he said, sadly. He stared after the pets for a moment. "I imagine she'll be sleeping in front of my door again tonight." Pause. "Oh god. I'm an insomniac sand monster!"no subject

He stared after the pets more. "They'll come back."

A loud neigh sounded from somewhere in the distance.

"She bites me," Jeff said, sagging.

When he saw Karal and a horse, he involuntarily shuddered. It was probably a very good thing he and Johnny hadn't actually found horses the other day.
He tried to sneak past without being spotted.
no subject
No, he hadn't listened to the radio. He did wonder why Chris seemed to be sneaking, though.
no subject
Chris forced a smile. "Morning, Karal. You're up early."

Which was an understatement of epic proportions.
