Second Floor Common Room - Monday Evening

The traditional finals coffee bar was set up in the second floor common room, complete with assorted goodies from J, GOB and various caffeinated beverages from the Perk.

Meg was sprawled across the couch with her eyes closed, a book resting over her stomach. If anyone asked, she was totally studying.

The strong scent of coffee drifting the short distance down the hallway to her room had Adah limping toward the common room out of a combination of curiosity and boredom. Leaning against the doorframe, she peeked her head in to access the situation before she made the decision to limp in a little further. She likened herself to that rare okapi, always assuring the scene is without danger or with worthy viewers before delicately joining the realm of the real.

Billy waved to Adah and silently offered her some coffee.

The mythical okapi slowly remembered that she had hands, or, at least, one, and, after blinking at the kid with the eyepatch, the reason for it growing increasingly gruesome each time she saw it, she lifted that hand in an idle sort of return of his gesture. The mythical okapi slowly remembered the meaning behind such a gesture, and then considered the offering. The mythical okapi usually didn't drink coffee; she preferred tea. But it was the scent of it that drove her into the grove today, so she gave a small nod, and reached out to take the cup.

If she thought that was gruesome she should see him without the eye patch. He handed her the cup and smiled. "Merry Christmas. Or whichever holiday you celebrate."

"Hi, Adah!" Meg said when she heard someone come in.

Adah in the doorway gave Meg a light smile in greeting back, deciding that the familiar face was well enough to prove the situation safe. She slid into the room, but didn't go far, leaning against the nearest chair to support her.

"There's coffee and stuff." she said, gesturing towards the bar. "Can't study without caffeine."

And there would be Jamie pouring as much sugar as he can into a mug of coffee.

"Coffeecoffeecoffeecoffee!" He said in a mantra-like fashion.

Meg sat up on the couch. "I don't know if you need any more caffeine."

Jamie looked at Meg as if wounded.

"No caffiene?"

He pouted.

"Oh, you can have more caffeine if you want." she said. "Just don't want you to overdose or anything."

It would have been a futile thing to attempt to not shift her eyes over toward He Who Clearly Did Not Need More. Adah quirked an eyebrow over her own cup, sipping lightly. And still thinking tea would have been better.

Jamie waved at the girl giving him a look. "Hi! Good to see you again. Don't worry, I won't throw anything at you this time!"

Adah gave her head an appreciative nod. Because, while there was food, there was also hot coffee and she thought that it was probably a good thing that was remaining unthrown.

Sokka, who was doing the exact same thing with a mug of a somewhat less black and significantly less opaque hot beverage, grinned and gave Jamie a thumbs-up.

Jamie gave Sokka a return thumbs-up as he began to drink his mega cup of java.

Billy, for the first time in his life, had a Christmas song stuck in his head and it wasn't bothering him.

"Have yourself, a merry little Christmas," he was singing under his breath. Then he hushed when he saw the girl sleeping on the couch.

The scent of coffee had Johnny wandering down the hallway to check out the common room. He grabbed a cup and a cinnamon roll, and wandered over to the couch where he saw Meg snoozing.

Not wanting to bother her... Okay, yes, he did want to bother her, he just wouldn't cause he's a nice sorta guy... he chose to sit in the chair close by.

Meg opened up her eyes slightly. "Hey, Johnny."

"Heyy Meg," he said, mouth full of cinnamon roll. "Litte cat nap?"

Adah, in a common room, curled around a cup of coffee, meant Adah, in a common room, curled around a cup of coffee and peeking through the slight curtain of hair covering her face to quietly watch the other people instead of sipping at the bitter caffeine that kept her hand warm. In this fashion, then, she watched Johnny, glad that, despite having any association with him for a while, she still remembered him, that the coma hadn't effected her memory of minor details like the Storm across the hallway in 217, 712... She watched not caring if he noticed; she watched not caring that she probably wouldn't change her watching if he did.

Johnny saw her. She wasn't one you missed easily despite the fact that she was very quiet. He noticed her looking at him too and he smiled at her, giving her a slight nod of his head in greeting.

Sokka grimaced as the odor of coffee reached him. But... where there was coffee, there was tea, right? And...

"FOOD! AWESOME!!!"

He scooped up a few good-looking pastries and stuffed a whole cheese danish in his mouth.
