Outside the dorms, early Thursday morning

It hadn't taken much time in the military for Jaina's sleep patterns to change, meaning that if she set an alarm, she was damn well awake and alert at the alarm, no matter what the hour. She was still getting used to the idea of actually going outside to run in this weather on purpose, though, and in fact was currently debating whether or not her sense of competition was strong enough to brave good old-fashioned frostbite.

Then again, at least she wouldn't be doing this naked, unlike some people.

[For [livejournal.com profile] ltcolkirk, up early for SP, and while other interaction might be a little difficult, the grounds are kind of a public space. Unless the squirrels cordoned off part of the exterior dorms as their own private country when I wasn't looking. Look, I'm very tired.]

"I think that was a different John," he told her.

He turned his head to face her as he ran. "We're interchangeable?"

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2008-01-03 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"You brought it up," he pointed out, blaming her for the weirdness for once.

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2008-01-03 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Which was technically true. "So, how about this weather?"

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2008-01-04 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
"I hadn't noticed," he teased. "You didn't have to come along, you know. My goal was not to torture you."

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2008-01-04 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
That sounded pretty encouraging to him. "So, anything I put out there you're going to go along with?"

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2008-01-04 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't have anything in mind yet," he informed her. "I was just intrigued."

The cold wasn't stopping that from sounding pretty hot, so John focused on his pace, speeding up a little. "Well, I'll keep that in mind."

"So then, what type are you?" he asked curiously. Not that he knew his own type. Maybe it was the windburn talking.

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2008-01-04 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
"Apparently I'm the type that goes running in the morning," he quipped. "Other than that I have no clue."

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2008-01-04 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
John shrugged, "If you say so."

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2008-01-04 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
"Huh. I guess I never thought about it that way before." He'd always thought of it as part of his routine.
