Third Floor Common Room, Saturday Morning

Completely oblivious to yesterday's influx of new kids, Zack emerged from his room, and made his way down to the common room in a search for caffeine.

Coffee in hand, Zack turned on the television and flipped through the channels in search of something interesting. Mmm, Bitterwoman reruns.

"Yes please." he said gratefully. He usually managed okay, but it was always nice to have assistance. "I keep meaning to go and buy some of those small bottles. Would you like some cereal too?"

Alex smiled and moved over to the fridge, helping him to put things away. "I'm sure they'd be easier to handle, right?" She didn't mean anything by that, she was just being honest. "Oh, thank you but I'm okay for now." Alex still had some coffee left and she was good with that.

"Yes they would." he agreed. "Sometimes I forget that I'm so small. I'm Robin by the way. Pleased to meet you."

"It's nice to meet you too, Robin," she replied. "I'm Alex."

Robin ate a spoonfull of the sugary cereal and then swallowed. "So where are you from Alex?"

"I'm from New York, 2008," Alex answered, figuring she should add on the year just to be safe. "How about you?"

"I'm florida, in the early 80's, but I spend a lot of time in LA."

"Oh, I've always wanted to visit LA," Alex admitted. It would never mean as much to her as New York, of that she was certain. But still, it'd be nice to just check the city out.

"It's really neat." Robin bounced. "I got to meet lots of famous people while I was out there. I've only been to New York a few times though. It's pretty exciting."

"That's great!" Alex would get to LA one day, no doubt about it. For now, she was content. "Well, if you ever feel like going back to New York, let me know. I'll show you around."

"Oh that'd be great!" he bounced more. "What classes are you taking?"

"I thought so," Alex giggled. "Let's see, I'm taking Fandom Invasions, the Art of Cool and My Country. What about you?"

"Ooh! I took Invasions last semester, that's a great class for starting out. And I'm also in the Art of Cool, and I'm taking public speaking, and math, and driver's ed."

"Oh good," Alex was relieved. She was somewhat nervous about her classes. Somewhat. "Awesome, so we have a class together. I'll actually know someone then, nice."

"That's always a plus." Robin nodded. "I'm sure you'll meet lots of people before then too."

"It is, yes," Alex agreed. "Oh, yeah. I've met a lot of great people so far and I'm continuing to do so, it seems."

"Am I the strangest you've met?" he asked, giggling.

"So far? I think so," Alex admitted, smiling. "But I'm sure that will change, from what I've heard about this place."

"Well I know there's a big blue furry monster here too."

"Really?!" Alex was a tiny bit shocked. "I have yet to meet him or her?"

"Him. His name's Sully, and he's really nice."

"Oh, okay, I'm glad to hear that," Alex grinned. "Most of the people here seem nice."

"I haven't met too many mean people. There was this one Principal, but they got rid of her."

"Happy to hear that," Alex admitted. "I don't think mean people would survive here."

"Not for long no. I wouldn't be surprised if there were mean people that became nice while they were here."
