4th floor Common Room, Wed evening

Wednesday night was Project Runway night. Peter wouldn't miss it for the world.

Currently there was a mini-marathon of previous episodes. Since Peter had seen them already, he kept himself occupied making notes in the journal Sam had gotten for him.

Well, that was the idea. Occasionally his writing would turn into random doodles without Peter noticing it.

"You're not going to get me to admit to Top Model withdrawal," Dean said with a grin.

"Of course not. You probably watch some manly show like MythBusters or something," she laughed. "Or Dirty Jobs."

"Damn right," Dean said, then grinned. "So Michael made me breakfast this morning."

"He did?" Isabel was glad to hear that. "He fed me to. So I'm happy. I thought he'd be mad for days. He seems like he's settling in nicely."

"Yeah, he's starting to let go of the bristling self defense," Dean agreed. "Can I ask you some stuff?"

"Good. That's a big step." And one her Michael hadn't taken until he was older.

"You can ask, I'll try to answer," she nodded. The trick would be answering questions without saying too much. Isabel was fairly certain there were some things Michael wouldn't want to be common knowledge.

"Were you raised together in the same household?" Dean asked.

"No. We got separated when we first came out of the pods," Isabel said quietly. "Max and I stayed together so when we were found, they assumed, rightly so, that we were brother and sister. We got lucky and were adopted. Michael...wasn't."

Dean nodded. "He said some stuff about his foster dad..."

"Yeah," she nodded, her voice tight. "Hank."

"Michael said he was a drunk?"

Isabel stared. "He told you that?"

"Well not in those words exactly, but yeah, that was the idea conveyed."

"My dad helped Michael get emancipated in my reality," she explained. "That's why I'm glad this Michael is here. He'll be safe."

"Yeah I was kinda getting the impression there was more than just passive drinking happening," Dean said. "Well he won't be the first one to end up here from really bad circumstances."

"Sadly he probably won't be the last." Isabel wasn't going to say anything more about Hank and Michael, fairly certain Dean would be able to interpret the silence.

"He told me he got a job at the diner. We're going to have to go be annoying customers."

"Oh definitely," Dean said with a grin, easily accepting the subject change. "It's been a while since I had diner food."
