Okay, so How to Be Cool Class was going to be...trying.

But that didn't matter to Luke because today there was snow!

He'd spent much of the break in Connecticut, which was why he knew the most appropriate thing to do when he went back outside (bundled beyond all reason because when it came down to it, he was still from Tatooine) was to fall backwards and make snow angels.

The giggling part was completely voluntarily.

Karal was on his way back from the library, once again carrying Altra, when he happened upon a giggling Luke.

Both he and the 'cat stared. "Luke? Did someone feed you brownies?" Karal asked cautiously.

"It really is snowing," Gavin said, bundled up in the heaviest clothes he could find and looking around in wonder. "Wow."

Wide blue eyes stared up at Karal. "...no."

"Isn't it great?" Luke enthused. "Make a snow angel!"

"A snow what?" Gavin asked, head turned up towards the sky. "What's that?"

"Good!" Karal grinned down at him, shifting Altra's weight. "I wanted to be sure. What are you doing lying in the snow?"

"This was the last thing I expected after the warm weather this week," John said, bending down and scooping up a fistful of snow. "But it should be diverting!"

And there would be a handful of snow tossed at John's head.

"Making snow angels," Luke said, moving his arms and legs. "Rory showed me."

A sneak snowball came flying through the air, dangerously close to Luke. If he was unlucky it might even hit him.

Which would explain the snowy-haired John throwing a nicely packed snowball right back at Gavin's head.

"Ow!" It hadn't hurt but he was melodramatic. "You could take an eye out like that!"

"They're not going to fall on you," Luke said, laughing. Then he remembered where he was. "Presumably. You lay on the ground and move your arms and legs."

He hauled himself out of the snow. "And then you stand up and have an angel with a great big butt print and a hand next to him."

"Why?" Gavin eyed Luke's angel. "Doesn't that make you colder?"

"At least you wouldn't have to go far for an icepack," John grinned, scooping up more snow and packing it tightly.

:Don't you dare! I am not going in the snow.: Altra divided his glare between Luke and Karal.

"Could I join you?" he asked, looking very innocent. "It seems fun."

By the time that the afternoon had rolled around, the snow barricade that Adah had placidly began that morning (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhighdorms/1289152.html?thread=106847680#t106847680) had been significantly improved; she kept adding to it continuously without too much concern for the fact that her gloves were going to be frozen through and the fingers of her left hand would be as paralyzed as those on her right. Still, building up and up until, finally, a bit of giggling caught her attention enough to cause her to peek over the side.

She disappeared a moment. When she peeked back up again, there was basically a carefully aimed, but poorly thrown snowball heading Luke's way.

Teyla was dressed in many more layers than she was used to, but it was worth it to be able to go outside and see the snow. She heard the giggling before she saw anyone on the ground, and ended up laughing herself at the sight. "Are you all right?" she asked.

Luke looked up at him from the ground. "Do you really want to start a snowball fight with a Jedi?"

"This is a lot of snow," Gavin said idly. "Haven't seen snow like this in awhile."

It hovered a few inches in front of his face as he noticed it. "That wasn't very nice," he said with a grin.

Luke saw who was throwing it, which is why it landed on his head with a squish. "Hey!" he said with a smile.

"Only if you agree to a no powers rule," John grinned. "Unless you're on my team, and then it's all about using the Force."

"Still, you're smiling." River giggled, then fell backwards into the snow, then made a snow angel.

"Oh, I'm fine," Luke assured her. "It's just something to do it the snow. I didn't want to be older than, say, nine today."
