Okay, so How to Be Cool Class was going to be...trying.

But that didn't matter to Luke because today there was snow!

He'd spent much of the break in Connecticut, which was why he knew the most appropriate thing to do when he went back outside (bundled beyond all reason because when it came down to it, he was still from Tatooine) was to fall backwards and make snow angels.

The giggling part was completely voluntarily.

Karal was on his way back from the library, once again carrying Altra, when he happened upon a giggling Luke.

Both he and the 'cat stared. "Luke? Did someone feed you brownies?" Karal asked cautiously.

Wide blue eyes stared up at Karal. "...no."

And there would be a snowball heading for Karal's chest. The person who threw it ducked down behind a drift to hide.

"It really is snowing," Gavin said, bundled up in the heaviest clothes he could find and looking around in wonder. "Wow."

"Isn't it great?" Luke enthused. "Make a snow angel!"

And that would be a disgruntled looking Firecat rearing up to put his front paws on Gavin's leg. :He dropped me in the snow! My paws are frozen!:

"Is it everything you imagined?" Inara asked, bundled up, but enjoying the crunch of the snow under her boots.

"This was the last thing I expected after the warm weather this week," John said, bending down and scooping up a fistful of snow. "But it should be diverting!"

And there would be a handful of snow tossed at John's head.

Luke looked up at him from the ground. "Do you really want to start a snowball fight with a Jedi?"

A snowball was hurled in John's direction, accompanied by giggling.

A barrage of rapid-fire snowballs went flying in John's general direction from that guy in the blue parka laying in the snow.

A sneak snowball came flying through the air, dangerously close to Luke. If he was unlucky it might even hit him.

It hovered a few inches in front of his face as he noticed it. "That wasn't very nice," he said with a grin.

By the time that the afternoon had rolled around, the snow barricade that Adah had placidly began that morning (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhighdorms/1289152.html?thread=106847680#t106847680) had been significantly improved; she kept adding to it continuously without too much concern for the fact that her gloves were going to be frozen through and the fingers of her left hand would be as paralyzed as those on her right. Still, building up and up until, finally, a bit of giggling caught her attention enough to cause her to peek over the side.

She disappeared a moment. When she peeked back up again, there was basically a carefully aimed, but poorly thrown snowball heading Luke's way.

Luke saw who was throwing it, which is why it landed on his head with a squish. "Hey!" he said with a smile.

River had noticed the barricade of course, and it was hard for Adah to hide from her. Having hoped for a sneak attack from Adah, River finally gave in to temptation and hurled a snowball over to the other side, then ducked.

Sokka looked over her work appreciatively. "Awesome fort! Anyone attack yet?"

Teyla was dressed in many more layers than she was used to, but it was worth it to be able to go outside and see the snow. She heard the giggling before she saw anyone on the ground, and ended up laughing herself at the sight. "Are you all right?" she asked.

"Oh, I'm fine," Luke assured her. "It's just something to do it the snow. I didn't want to be older than, say, nine today."

A small figure in a heavy, fur-lined cloak ducked behind a tree and lobbed a snowball at Luke.

Her secrecy may have been spoiled considering that Ata immediately departed from her side to chase it.

Luke, now thoroughly drenched, shrugged and flattened himself onto the ground. "Hello, Ata!" he said.

He waved at the tree. "Hello, Aravis!"

Sokka, still chewing the last bits of his breakfast, burst out of the dorm's door and joined the party. "NORMAL WEATHER!!!" he shouted, as he dove into the snow and kissed it. "Oh, I've missed you."

Seely grinned when he caught sight of the snow. He liked snow.

And more importantly snowball fights.

Inara was watching the snow fall, bemused at all the activity it had engendered.

Luke waved like a dork at her.

Romeo thought snow was mostly way too cold and wet and annoying to be out in, but it was pretty in the gathering twilight. He paused to pack a ball together, more to feel the consistency than because he planned to throw it.

On occasion, drawn by the sounds of the battle beyond the low wall of her snowy fortification and partly to make sure that her limbs had not frozen into atrophy from being outside for so long, Adah would take a peek around to see if there was anything of particular interest to watch. The boy from the picnic (O Emor, Romeo!) apparently qualified, as Adah tilted her head and followed his eyes toward the gathering twilight that had caught his attention. She felt sure that the snow in his hands was being gathered idly, but the fact that it was there certainly did halt her in her first thought of an attack.
