Gym, Flag Football Practice, Sunday @ noon

Thanks to a handwavey notice, all flag football fans knew to flock to the gym for... uh... fractice. Ahem.

Willow was there, complete with clipboard and blue hat. "Hi everybody! Welcome to the first flag football practice of the new season. I'm Willow, coach of the vastly superior blue team. But that's not important right now because today we're going to focus on working together as we learn new moves.

"Today's move is a very important one," Willow said. "It involves teamwork, excellent hand/eye coordination, and has the added benefit of boosting team morale. It's the pat on the butt. This move can be used before a difficult play as a means to encourage, or it could be done after a touchdown as a way to be all 'woo! go you!'

"I've made diagrams for those of you not familiar with the gestures." Willow started to hand out sheets of paper. They contained ittle stick figure diagrams of a stick figure Willow patting a stick figure English Peter on the butt. You could tell which was which because stick figure Willow had red hair and stick figure English Peter had a crown and a cup of tea. "These show the various methods as well as the Zone Of Acceptable Patting where you're not so low that you're in a bad swimsuit area kind of place and not so high that you have to worry about accidentally crippling someone if you whack their spine too hard.

"So pair up and get to patting," Willow said. "John and I will keep an eye on you and monitor your progress. Go teams!"

Mel was sitting back and watching the practice with much amusement. Occasionally she would shout encouragement at other players to "pat harder!".

Amber came by the gym just to check out the flag football and see what it was like. Plus, she was a tad bored in her room. She can only color and/or clean for so long.
