There was a sign near the entrance to the CR.

Single Zone:
No couples or significant others allowed.
Any couple coming in and acting cute enters at their own risk

Anyone venturing past the sign would find Mel watching horror movies. Specifically horror movies where young couples in love end up getting killed.

There was also a mug of something she was drinking that was definitely not alcoholic. Really.

"Sounds good," she nodded. "Fun store. Even though I'm kinda not supposed to sell people things. Which is all counterintuitive and stuff."

"Maybe it's got something to do with that whole directing the future thing your boss is working on."

"He's ... trying to direct the future?" Rikku asked. "I just kinda thought it was a control thing. Here, all the weapons are here and I can make sure no one else has 'em."

"He said something like that once, it didn't make much sense to me."

"Huh." Rikku wrinkled her nose, trying to remember. "I know he's kinda ... all ... bumped around, timewise? He said something about growing up here and then going there and then things changed and he kinda doesn't have a home-time, sort of a thing. I think. I got pretty confused, I gotta say."
