Third Floor Common Room - Wednesday After Work - 4/09

He still felt bad about no longer being able to spend his lunch time with Andrew since he'd taken on the new job, and so he was back in the kitchen again (though this time on the third floor of the dorms) making up dinner so that they could still share a meal together for the day. That said, he'd been in a kitchen all day and his creativity was rather spent.

So he was making a big heaping pot of chili.

Hopefully, Andrew wouldn't mind it being simple.

Andrew smiled. "It was Isabel," he said. "And get this, she didn't see the glory in being able to pee standing up. It's like a slap in the face to everything that is man."

"Perhaps she had trouble standing up. I know Ino was complaining about her center of balance."

"She didn't seem to be wobbling around or anything," he said as he set the drinks and the utensils out on the table.

He shrugged.

"That was Ino's main complaint. I hope no one gave her any trouble over it yesterday. She was pretty upset."

"I think I would be pretty upset if I woke up with boobs," Andrew acknowledged. "Would you still love me if I turned into a girl?"

He thought about it for a moment.

Then he nodded.

"I'd still love you. Then again, I'd still love you if you woke up with antlers. You're Andrew."

That was important.

Andrew laughed. "I've already been a bunny. I think I'll try and avoid turning into anything with antlers, though. Not nearly as cuddly."

He smiled and ruffled Andrew's hair.

"Good. I like you just as you are, even if I could handle any adjustments that might come up."

He served the chili and sat.

"Nothing beats the original."

Andrew tapped at the slight bulge under his shirt. "I meant to ask you," he said, should I be taking this thing off to shower?"

He shook his head.

"It should be fine. Even if the copper rusts, it'll still function normally."

He quirked.

"Though in later versions, I might consider some manner of coating or casing."

"So do you think it's working? When do you want to try it out?" Andrew was pretty curious about the little device.

"I won't know til I check it. And I'll test the results sometime tonight, clear it" and now he was thinking of how he'd ever figure out clearing it without being Himself and doing it, "and pass it onto Bridge since for all I know, my presence might be affecting it. There's magic involved, after all."

"So will you see everything I've done in the past day or so?" he asked. He had done a few things in private with the thought that Liir might enjoy the playback.

"Something like that. It's supposed to let me remember them as you would."

He had no idea of such.

Andrew's smile faltered briefly when he thought about the conversation he had had with John yesterday, but it wasn't like they had discussed anything Liir wasn't already aware of.

"What about things I was imaging?" he asked, because he had imagined doing some pretty interesting things with his boyfriend.

"A backdrop, I'd imagine," he said as he took the first bite of the finished chili.

"Unless there wasn't much going on to remember. If so, then probably as vivid as if it'd happened. I was going for the same balance as a real memory.

"That's all if it works, though."

He frowned at Andrew.

"Is something the matter?"

He'd noticed the faltering.

Andrew shook his head. "No," he said. "So could you take a peek right now? I mean, if I guided you to the right memory?"

He reached out a finger to tap lightly against Andrew's temple.

"I wouldn't need the device. I can do that on my own."

"Really?" Andrew got a slightly wicked grin. He closed his eyes and leaned in towards Liir. "What do I need to do?"

He blushed a little.

"Well..."

He looked down.

"We should probably finish our dinner before you do. But then, um... you concentrate on it and I, um, well, I guess Listen is the best word I've ever come up with for it."

Andrew looked a little disappointed, but the chili did smell really good, so he tucked in.

"Tasty," he said between bites, mouth full.

He smiled at Andrew.

"That way we can do so uninterrupted and without hungry stomachs to distract either of us."

Andrew could eat very quickly when inspired, and he was pretty excited to try this memory sharing with Liir.

Liir ate quickly, mostly because the food was good but also because he could see that Andrew was anxious.

He couldn't think of why but he ate quickly nonetheless.

Andrew finished off his chili and sat there, watching Liir finish his. "You're cute when you eat," he commented.
