Camp gym (Salle)- Thursday before classes

While it would be nice to have a summer without worrying whether or not any relatives would be listening to the radio and not feeling checked up on, Jaina also realized that she was losing the two people who helped her with her lightsaber training, too. This was definitely a downside, and she new that it just meant she was going to have to make it a point of getting down here more and practicing herself. She thought she might get a lecture if she was all rusty come fall, after all.

Making sure to stick a note on the door to give warning that there was someone back here with a nice live weapon that was known for chopping off limbs, she set up three remotes to start firing, and ignoted her lightsaber to start deflecting the bolts that were going to be coming at her at pretty high speeds.


[Yes I did have to go into old posts to make sure the salle was there. Open, as I have a couple hours before work still, but then it'll be SP till this evening PST. Fair warning.]

This time around Cassandra could actually read said sign, and given the discussion that had been had all those months ago she knocked at the door loudly, hoping that it would be heard.

Luke saw the note, grinned, and returned a few minutes later with his lightsaber before rapping against the door.

Jaina didn't hear the knock, but she did sense someone at the door, so she shut down her lightsaber, giving her a chance to catch a breath, and called, "Yeah!"

Now that presence Jaina definitely recognized. She shut down her lightsaber but didn't bother yelling towards him, deciding instead to issue a silent welcome.

Luke walked in and gave her a bright smile. "I figured I should get in another session before heading home," he said quietly.

"I'm glad you did," said Jaina, and she'd actually been hoping he would show, really. "When do you leave?"

"Next Friday morning," he said. "Early." He shook his head. "Dad gave me the shuttle as a graduation gift."

While she was a slightly surprised, she was also a little jealous. Since last night she'd been wanting to get back in her own X-wing, though. "Guess that means I can't steal it anymore, huh?"

Luke grinned. "No," he said, "but I give him about two weeks back without transportation before he starts trying to build something that flies."

"Or worse, modify a car to do so," she agreed.

"Rory'd kill him," Luke decided, moving closer to the center of the mat. "How's your training been going?"

She waved her hand in the universal gesture for so-so. "I'm keeping up with it regularly. I kind of want to see if Mara's up for having me visit, just to see where she thinks I am, though."

Luke couldn't stop the smile from crossing his face. "Tell her I say hi?"

Jaina just barely managed not to shake her head and smile. "I will. And she always says hi back, so there you go." And the hi back was usually included with a lot of amusement and teasing of that version of Luke.

Luke shouldn't be so happy to hear that about a person he'd met once, but he was. "Good," he said, beaming.

He tossed the hilt of his lightsaber from one hand to the other. "Do you want to spar, maybe? Get you ready for Mara?"

"If you think you can handle it, sure," she teased. Yeah, she knew she'd get her ass kicked, but she always learned.

"I'll try to keep up," he told her, grinning and igniting his lightsaber.

Grinning back, she stepped back and ignited her lightsaber, getting into a ready position.

He waited for a split second, listening to a nudge in the Force only he could hear, then lunged forward.

Jaina was ready to begin with, countering with a block and an easy swing of her own.

Luke's eyes lit with approval, and he sped up, aiming the lightsaber for her ribs.

She was studying his movements as much as she was concentrating on what she was doing, still all right to be on the defensive for the moment, though she was quick to parry that shot.

Anakin had been teaching Luke well. His movements had gotten faster and more confident over the months.

"I almost beat Dad the last time we sparred," he commented, pressing forward, "and he wasn't happy at all."

Luke had been.

"Maybe next time, you will beat him," said Jaina, countering his movements as best she could. After all, she was sure her Luke could wipe the floor with Anakin.

"That would be kind of great," Luke said, sweeping his lightsaber towards her legs.
