Lois? Totally not about hanging around some volcano. She was, however, all about kung-fu movies and she happened to stumble across a channel full of them. She popped some popcorn and grabbed a soda out of the fridge and settled down on the couch for an evening full of ass kicking. The movie that was on now had some weird plot about elephant theft. Animal stealing and ass kicking. It doesn't get much better than that.

"He comes from a long line of elephant protectors," Lois said. "And these aren't any elephants. They're war elephants. Whatever that means."

"Man, I used to think that growing up with circus elephants was nice. But war elephants?" Dick asked. "I think this guy's my new hero."

"Mine too. And I've never even been around an elephant," Lois said. Tanks, sure. Elephants, not so much. "I'm Lois, by the way."

"I'm Dick," Dick said. "You're in auto maintenance, right?"

"That's right. I thought you looked familiar," she said. She had been trying to keep a low profile in that class since the whole bra-in-the-car incident. "But it's kind of hard to be social in a class where your head is underneath a car's hood most of the time."

"Especially since if you're doing things right the room should be filled with engine noises before the end of the workshop," Dick agreed. "I guess everyone could just suck one week and use the time to chat."

Lois laughed. "That could work. Unless Winchester deems us all idiots and makes us watch him demonstrate over and over again until we get it right."

"I don't know about you, but I'm confident I could make up the work pretty quickly," Dick said. "It wouldn't be so bad for me."

"It depends on what it was. I can change a tire pretty quickly," Lois said. "But anything that has to do with engines and stuff kind of confuses me."

"You seem to be doing pretty good with that stuff so far," Dick said. "At the very least nothing's exploded yet."

Lois chuckled. "Keyword there being 'yet'. I've still got a couple classes left to make something blow up."

"If you hear anything ticking in the engine, do me a favor and let me know so I can take cover, okay?" Dick asked.

Lois sighed dramatically. "But that'll take all the fun out of it!"

"Fine," Dick conceded. "But if I get hit with engine parts, I'm holding you personally responsible."

"Fair enough," Lois agreed. "I will take care of any medical costs if you get nailed in the head with a sparkplug."

"Sounds fair," Dick said. After a moment he got a suspicious look on his face and asked, "You're not going to randomly throw a spark plug at me before class next week, are you?"

"Of course not!" Lois paused and thought about it for a moment. "Well...okay, I might."

"Do you have good aim or should I bring goggles to protect the eyes?" Dick asked.

"I have really good aim. So you won't even need the goggles," she said. "I'll be courteous enough to aim for the back of your head and you won't have to worry about me missing."

"I appreciate it. It's rare that people show such kindness," Dick said.

Lois smiled. "I consider myself the epitome of kindness."

"You're getting a plaque that says that for your birthday," Dick said.

"You've got until the 22nd to make said plaque," Lois informed him.

"Figures. I just had to say that to a girl whose birthday is this month," Dick said. "That'll teach me."

"I'll accept a piece of paper that said I was the epitome of kindness," Lois said, grinning. "It can be an IOU until my golden plaque comes in."
