Roof of Emo, Monday Afternoon/Evening

After class -- and boy was she relieved that Mr. Rogers was there and all right -- Savannah hadn't wanted to go back to her room yet. She also hadn't been in the mood to go to the beach, either. So, after trying to figure out where to go, she had decided on the roof. Finding somewhere she could sit out of the way and watch the sky, she tried to get comfortable.

She was sore, achey and upset. Not a fun combination.

She had also been kind of dumb. What had she been thinking -- trying to fight Hades like that?! Had she been oh so slightly suicidal? She was lucky that he hadn't done more damage than he had.

"Note to self, when Hell Gods attack... go around them."

Which brought her to the other part of her mood.

Johnny.

Yesterday's fight... and then the one that was even worse when she came home last night...

Things were not good and she didn't know how to fix them -- or even if they could be fixed.

Anders felt like a cigarette was warranted. All things considered, he could've had one before now, but he was sort of trying to be good about these things.

Sort of. Sometimes.

Stepping out onto the roof, he caught sight of Savannah and quietly dropped down beside her. "I know there's a whole rooftop tradition that needs to be passed on before I leave and all, but I was kinda hoping I wouldn't have to see you observing it."

Savannah leaned her head against him. "It's been a pretty rough couple of days, Big Sib," she said quietly.

Apparently Savannah was adding Mistress of Understatement to her skill set.

"Yeah, I'll say." Anders slung his arm lightly around her shoulders.

Then his gaze fell to her wrists.

". . . little sis, what did you do?"

Savannah looked down. "It's nothing."

Compared to what Hades had done to her, the rope burns weren't that big of a thing.

He looked her over carefully, taking note of any other evidence of injuries. "You're all beat up. That's not nothing. All of this from fighting stuff over the weekend?"

He knew better than to think she'd willingly sit that out.

She let out a sad breath.

"Most of it is. I went on the rescue mission last night... tried to take on Hades one-on-one." She swallowed. "Please, Anders. Please don't tell me how stupid that was. I've heard it enough."

"I was climbing Mount Olympus this weekend, I have no room to talk," Anders said, holding up his hands. "'sides, I know better by now than to try and stop you from doing these things, 'cause you wouldn't be you if you didn't. Won't say part of me's not freaking, but trying to stop you altogether? Pretty dumb if you ask me."

After a weekend with very, very little sleep, Mac had spent most of Monday catching up. By the time afternoon came around and she found she still wasn't feeling particularly awake, she came up to see if maybe a breeze up on the roof would help.

This was going to throw her body clock so off whack.

She raised a hand in greeting to Savannah when she saw her. "Hey. Mind sharing roofspace?"

Savannah looked up and gave a small smile when she saw who it was.

"Hey, Mac, Pull up some roof and make yourself comfortable."

"I actually expected it to be busier up here after a weekend like this," Mac remarked settling crosslegged near the edge of the roof.

"You alright?"

She started to say she was and then shook her head. "I'm not really sure, Mac. This weekend... it was really rough."

Mac frowned across at her with concern. It was seeming more and more like staying in the library for two days had really been the best way to spend the weekend.

"We're all still here, right?" she said hopefully.

Savannah nodded. "Everyone is here who should be here."

Eve hadn't been up on the Roof of Emo much, but given the past few days, she figured it was as good a place as any to go and think.

She wasn't surprised to see her daughter up there.

"Hey, kid," she said softly as she approached.

Savannah gave her mother a small smile. "Hey, mom. Gwynn get home all right?"

"Yeah." Eve nodded. "Didn't sleep well last night, but that's pretty much to be expected."

She remembered how she found Isabel and Lana and nodded. "Does she know he'll never come after her again?"

"She does," Eve said. "It's taking a while to come to terms with that, but she knows it."

"She'll be okay," Savannah said. "She's fierce and tough."

For some reason, Summer felt like being on the roof. She wasn't necessarily emo, but she was a bit thoughtful after this weekend.

"Hey," she greeted when she spotted Savannah looking kind of upset. "Are you okay?"

Savannah tried to smile at Summer, but failed miserably and shook her head instead.

Summer frowned slightly. "What's wrong? Is this about everything that happened this weekend?"

"In a way... Johnny and I... we're not good right now, Summer."

Summer gave her a sympathetic look. "What's going on? Unless you'd rather not talk about it..."

Savannah looked at her and there were tears in her eyes. "I think we're... I think it's about to be over between us and I don't know how to stop it or fix what's been broken."
