Third Floor Common Room - Wednesday Evening

Chuck was watching TV in the common room. He wasn't particularly pleased to having to be in such a public area to relax but the flatscreen he had ordered for his room still hasn't come in yet. Chuck was sprawled out on the couch, the remote in one hand and a glass of scotch in the other. He wasn't about to hang out in something called a common room sober.

Chuck didn't really watch SportsCenter. He didn't really have anything to do with sports at all. Still, he could appreciate a good car crash as much as the next man. So he nodded in agreement and took another sip of scotch.

"I'm Chuck, by the way," he said.

Chuck looked down at his glass. And here he thought this was a habit he had brought from home. "Do a lot of people cope with alcohol here?"

"All I know is that the bar serves minors and they apparently do decent business," Dick said.

"Well I know about the gremlins and I have to say that I still don't fully believe that yet. I just heard about the glitter," he said. He didn't quite believe that either. "And I have accepted the fact that we're in Antarctica. What else is there to know?"

"I missed the forces of the Underworld from Greek mythology attacking because I turned into a rock for a weekend," Dick said. "What this about glitter?" He hadn't heard that one yet.

It took Chuck a few moments to completely work out what Dick had said. Naturally he didn't believe a word of it. Since Dick looked like a nice guy (which was a shame, really) Chuck just figured he was crazy. Yes, that's the form his denial had taken. Everybody but him was crazy.

"Apparently the glitter here makes guys want to kiss other guys," Chuck said.

"Hey, if somebody wants to kiss you bad enough that they're willing to make everyone look like an idiot by throwing glitter, that's weird, but it's kind of a compliment," Dick said. "Or if somebody was doing it to make me look bad, that means that I'm really irritating them, and that's kind of a compliment too."
