Fourth floor common room, Thursday evening

"So," Dean began, grinning at his double, settling on the couch with the remote, popcorn and a mlkshake, "how many zombie flicks do you think we can get through tonight?"

Now Alec grinned again. "I can safely say it's an amazing experience with the right person."

Helen nodded thoughtfully. "And how is one supposed to go about finding the right person?"

He spread his hands. "You can always look for a willing and experienced volunteer," he said, rather innocently.

"True," she said. "Of course that is not necessarily the thing one wants to go around asking people about. And how would one weed out those who are not experienced enough?"

"That could get a little messy," he admitted. "But you've got a willing and experienced volunteer right in front of you - so I guess it's your call whether you want to try looking elsewhere."

"Oh!" Helen blushed a little. "I didn't realize you meant..."

"Well, it would be a great shame to turn down a willing and experienced volunteer. I think only a fool would do that."

"I'm pretty straightforward when I'm interested in something," he smiled. "And you don't seem like a girl I'd think of as a fool."

She smiled at him. "I'm not a fool. And I'm glad you're interested. And straightforward."

"Me too," he said, then tilted his head, giving her a playful look. "Do you have somewhere we can go?"

[identity profile] elephantgadget.livejournal.com 2008-07-11 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"A room with a male roommate who would most likely not appreciate our presence," she said rolling her eyes. "And who might have a robot friend visiting. I am sure we could find a quiet corner, though. It doesn't take much time after all."

Alec stared at her a long moment, vaguely appalled. "...Okay, that's not on," he said firmly, standing up. "Come on. We'll find an unused dorm or something."

"Right now?" she said, looking a little surprised. "We don't need to plan a way so people don't know?"

She looked meaningfully at the other people in the room. "Wouldn't they be surprised if we just disappeared in the middle of the... zombies eating brains?"

He considered that, finally shrugging. "We can wait," he said easily. "Far be it for me to rush it." Alec grinned again and dropped down into his seat. "We'll figure something out."

She smiled again. "Already different from the priests."

[identity profile] x5-alec.livejournal.com 2008-07-12 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
"Thank god," Alec said wryly. "So sit, then. There's lots of zombie action to keep us busy for now."

[identity profile] elephantgadget.livejournal.com 2008-07-12 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
She sat down after a brief hesitation. "You are not taking back your offer, then?"

[identity profile] x5-alec.livejournal.com 2008-07-12 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
"No way. Whatever makes you most comfortable, and I'm always good with making sure things don't get interrupted or whatever," Alec told her, leaning back comfortably in his seat.

She smiled and relaxed a little in her seat. "Good, then" she said.

Though really, it was certainly easy enough to make sure they weren't interrupted for 10 minutes or so, wasn't it? Still, it was very good of him to be concerned.
