The deck was completed, and ready to be used.

The workers had cleared out just in time for the food and drink to be set out, and the coloured lights to be strung along the roof.

There was music, and space to dance on the lawn, and a cool breeze to cut through the heat of the day.

[ooc: In honour of Tiny Toons being released on DVD today, there are random containers of mango juice lying about. Also, any drinks may become mango juice. If a character drinks and says 'Ah! Mango juice!' an inflatable palm tree will fall on their head. Open to all ~~once~~ as the OCD is up!

Amber stared back at Cal. And she blinked. Innocently.

...no, he didn't mean what she thought he meant, did he?

Her cheeks slowly started turning pink.

That rising blush only encouraged Cal's grin a little more and he just tried to look innocent as he commented, "Just remember, I can hear things through my wall."

Which he couldn't. The structural integrity of those rooms was astounding. But it was way too easy to tease her, even if it didn't feel quite the same. Inara was gorgeous, sure, and she blushed very prettily, but it wasn't nearly as cute as when Amber did it.

Biting her lip, she glanced away, grinning slightly. "I'll try to be very quiet tonight," she teased.

"Good," Cal said, giving a firm nod and another light grin. She was just joking, though, right? Or did she...? Not that Cal had been anyone to talk. Even his file in Dr. Luce's office had a section devoted to masturbation. Of course, Dr. Luce also thought that showing a fourteen year old pornography was an effective studying method. "Thought I'd have to call the cops, you were so loud last time."

Oh, goodness, Amber's cheeks flooded with color, but she gave as good as she got. "It's this new... toy, it's absolutely amazing."

"Oh?" Cal asked, shifting his head to the side a little to peer at Amber, quirking an eyebrow that just seemed to dare her to elaborate.

"Yes... it's purple and it," dare she say, "tickles."

"I think it's supposed to do a bit more than tickle," Cal pointed out.

"Oh yes, it certainly does. But at first? It tickles..." How would he know, anyway?

"Ohhh, I see," Cal nodded his head a few times slowly. "it only starts with tickling."

Amber nodded, still blushing. "You wouldn't understand."

Cal grinned at that, but he was fully aware of his blush, and he dropped his eyes away a little. "No, I guess I wouldn't," he said, feigning ignorance, feigning innocence.

Until he lifted his eyes again, leaving his head down, and smirked. "But, hey, you're the expert."

"No... no, not really," she supplied, eyes downcast. She just as good as admitted that she... that she... oh wow.

Cal just kept his grin, ducking his head again as well with a little rub to his chin.

"You'll forget this conversation, all right? Just forget it right now and oh, look, it's getting later. Hmm. Have you tried the mango juice?"

Cal gave a sideways glance toward his inflatable palm tree.

"Yup. I sure did."

And, no, he was not going to forget about this conversation. Probably not ever. But he would have the decency to not say anything more about it.

She seemed to just notice his palm tree. "That's... odd."

Please face, quit burning now!

"Yeah, it just fell on me from the sky. Weirdest shit."

Amber believed it.

"There's a lot of that going around today it would seem."
