Second Floor Common Room [Thursday Evening]

Ned decided to cook.

After realizing he hadn't cooked anything but a can of soup (take out dinners were so much easier) in the last few weeks, he decided to rectify with a new take on a pie he'd made in the past.

So, there were supplies and ingredients and a guy in a flour stained blue apron moving about the common room.

[Open, yep! He'll share!]

"You've left the illusion box off," Viki said helpfully from the doorway. "I didn't know the illusion box could be off. Is it broken?"

She waved in the general direction of the television. "I've never seen it off before."

Romeo had spent much of the day on the beach, absorbed in a crime novel, and was passingly surprised when he noticed the sunset was approaching and he'd had nothing to eat save coffee all day.

So he was grateful to notice motion inside a common room much closer to the entrance than his own on the fifth floor.

"Good evening, Ned, are you cooking?" he asked hopefully.

"This box, another box," she shrugged. "They're always on. It's quite odd. Have the wizards that run them fallen asleep?"

Yes, she was being serious.

"I can make myself a sandwich and then have your dessert," Romeo decided, rummaging for bread and peanut butter. "Or I could just have two desserts ..."

This was clearly a difficult choice.

"I never really understood it," Viki confessed. "From the wizards to the wires to the trees. What else do you do?"
withoutverona: (Looking up over shoulder)

Romeo waved a little at Viki. "Did you find your crayons?"

[identity profile] blinkandsneeze.livejournal.com 2008-07-25 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
"My crayons!" she beamed. "They were under the bed."

No, she had no idea how they'd gotten under her bed.

"Do you do both at once?" Viki wanted to know. "Or is it simply a one at a time thing?"
withoutverona: (listening)

Romeo looked distinctly interested, but he started making the sandwich anyhow. Growing boy, and all.

"That would be an amazing party dessert," he decided. "People could carry them around, and there wouldn't be the bother of needing to cut the pie into even slices and all of that."

"I have no idea if it counts," she admitted. "I don't make decisions like that. And I don't know who does either."
withoutverona: (B+ W grin)

"Lost things usually are," Romeo told her wisely. "I've no idea why, you wouldn't think there was a vortex there..."

"Perhaps a Rune?" Viki mused. "One that can suck things in? Hmmm. Maybe it has managed to spread it's power to under every bed and so, is much weaker."

[identity profile] blinkandsneeze.livejournal.com 2008-07-25 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
"I shouldn't like it for myself either," Viki said earnestly. "Far too difficult."
withoutverona: (Not quite certain)

Romeo took that seriously. Booze was important. "You could do something like Jello shots in pie crust," he suggested. "Though that probably would not be as good as what you have in the bowl."

He thought more. "Maybe some Bailey's mixed in, instead of milk or cream."

Romeo had been joking. Mostly. But: "You know, I think you are on to something," he told her. "Perhaps the same Rune eats the missing socks when I do laundry."
