Fightin' Fox Cabin, Sunday Afternoon

Dawn was trying very hard not to resent the cabins for taking away two weeks of her last few weeks living with Sam, but it wasn't working as well as she wanted it to. To distract herself (and because she had to do it if she expected to sleep anyway), Dawn was outside the cabin, drawing protective sigils on the outside of the window sills near her bunk.

Salting the inside would be next.

"You're not the first person to suggest that," she giggled, "but I have no idea why. No, really."

"Keep it that way," he advised, not unkindly.

"How'd you end up here?" She asked, resuming painting and not quite sure how to respond to that. "Here like Fandom here, not here like outside the cabin here, because I kinda assumed you walked over from the dorms."

"I did," he replied and he shrugged a shoulder. "My dad thought it was a good opportunity to go to school abroad." He left off the part as to why he agreed.

"Got any brothers or sisters? Is it way different from home for you?"

"Two younger sisters," he replied. "And I don't think any place is like this one."

"Hee, true. Do you miss them?"

Another shrug. "A little, but they're fine and being away from my dad is always a plus." He said it jokingly, not really meaning the sentiment even if the man was hopeless and annoying.

"One of those, huh?"

"If by those you mean annoying and loud, then yes," he smirked. "Know the type?"

"I am the type."

He laughed softly. "I consider myself warned."

"It's more than a lot of people get," she told him generously.

"Really? So cabins get you into a generous mood?" he asked.

"Usually, yes. This last time, not so much," she grumped. "But you seem okay and it's not your fault we're here and I'm away from my roommate so I'm trying not to take it out on you."
