Third Floor Common Room [evening]

Kaylee was bored. And hungry.

Generally, these two things were not a particularly good combination.

That said, she'd managed to actually follow a recipe and produce a decent (if funnily-shaped) batch of chocolate raspberry cookies.

Now, the state of the kitchen, and...her clothes, and really, her overall appearance -- that was something else. It didn't matter to her, anyway, if the flour had gotten all over so long as the right amount had ended up in the cookies. And so what if there was chocolate on her cheeks and baking powder in her hair, too.

Plus she'd eaten about half the raspberries so they might actually have been a little shy of what they should have been, but whatever, they seemed okay to her.

"I could do this," she said thoughtfully. "I ain't never wrestled in anything. I mean, I don't wanna waste cake if I can help it."

"Wasting cake is bad." Harry looked thoughtful, then shrugged. "I'll have to think some more on the logistics of it all."

Not that he was going to be thinking of attractive female classmates wrestling in baked goods (or wrestling, period) all night long. Of course not. That would be Wrong.

"Maybe we could just use the batter," she pondered. "Might make for better wrestlin', too."

Harry grinned. "I like the way you think."

"I'm Kaylee, by the way," she said, waving happily. "If we met, I forgot. I got a brain like a sieve sometimes."

"I'm Harry, and I'm terrible at meeting people. Or, you know, socializing. So we probably didn't meet."

"I'm real social. Or I try t'be! So I meet lots of people an' then I forget. Opposite problem," she said cheerfully.

"I'm trying to improve at the social thing," Harry said. "Apparently being a hermit isn't healthy, or so I keep hearing. And then there's the fact that it's difficult to be a successful hermit when you share a dorm room with someone."

"You could hermit under your bed," she pointed out helpfully.

"I could," Harry said. "It would be more like a cave, and hermits are supposed to live in caves, right? But I think I'll stick with the trying to become marginally more social plan for now. Under the bed can be a backup plan."
