Second Floor Common Room, Saturday Evening

Tony was determined to understand Much Concern Over Nothing, so he'd rented a copy of the movie. He put the movie on with subtitles playing and had his copy of the play open in front of him to follow along. He paused the movie occasionally to make notes or to rewind it and watch something again.

Not the most exciting way to spend a Saturday night, perhaps, but at least it was unlikely to end with him in the ER.

Myn had noticed common rooms being the general gathering place for students. Sometimes even with free food involved.

He stepped into the common room on the second floor, having heard voices from the hallway, and regarded the television with a headtilt that wouldn't look out of place on a curious puppy. "What are you watching?" he asked, coming closer.

"It's called Much Concern Over Nothing," Tony said. "It's an old play that someone made into a movie."

"It's...flat," Myn said, mentally kicking himself for making such an obvious statement. "Is it interesting, at least?"

"Better than I expected," Tony said. "Flat? I mean, it's not Blu-Ray, but it looks pretty good to me."

"Well, it's..." Myn gestured to the television. "Flat. Non-holographic."

It took Tony a moment to understand. "TV is holographic where you come from?"

Donos nodded. "Most of the time. There are exceptions." He stood behind the couch, watching the current scene with interest. "One of my squadmates is an actor - I'm sure he would find this fascinating."

"How do they shoot it?" Tony asked, working through the logistics in his head. "Multiple cameras?"

"Holo-cams," Donos explained. Because that explained everything, of course. "It's just...the way it is?" It wasn't something he knew the intimate details on.

"Oh," Tony said. "For this they just use one camera. A regular one."

"I'm sorry," Myn said, running a hand through his hair sheepishly. "Face would know more about this. My knowledge mostly centers around weaponry. Still, it didn't stop him from being interested in the movie. "This is what you wanted to work with, isn't it?" he asked, remembering some of their previous conversation. "Directing?"

"Yeah," Tony said. "Actually, they're doing this play in town. I got a job as stage manager."

"That will be good experience." Myn offered Tony a smile. "Are you looking forward to class this week?"

"I don't know," Tony said. "It's kind of overwhelming."

"It seems like it's going to be interesting, though. Except I might have to hold you to the suggestion of studying together." Myn was learning to ask for help when he needed it.

"I'm definitely up for that," Tony said. "I'm afraid I'm going to get lost in that class."

"It seems like it's going to be very interesting, but Lady Ghanima definitely seems the type to push her students out of their comfort zones." Which was something Myn was not looking forward to.

"Did you want to set up a study date time to meet up after the next class?"

"Sure," Tony said. "How busy are you on Wednesdays?"

"I'm completely free," Donos said. "I only have classes on Monday and Tuesday."

"I'm free Wednesday, too. Want to meet in the library in the afternoon?"

"Sure, that sounds perfect." He eyed the tv for a moment, before asking, "When is this going to be performed here?"

"Not for a while. Rehearsals haven't even started yet," Tony said.

"That makes sense, seeing as the term just started." Myn felt his cheeks reddening, and looked away quickly. Small talk was not his specialty.

"It's a community theater, not strictly a school thing," Tony said.

"Is it downtown, then?" Myn asked.
