The Deck, Friday evening

Jan was exploring the deck area, picking his way delicately between the chairs and the tables to sniff at the gas barbecues. He flattened his ears, because they smelled wrong, shook his head, and headed out onto the grassy area.

When he spotted the horseshoes (not that he knew what they were), he trotted over, sniffed them, then carefully picked one up in his teeth.

After a few minutes, he was amusing himself by tossing them at the upright stick, trying to see if he could get them to land on it.

[ooc: So open, yes. Unicorn playing horseshoes. I couldn't resist.]

"Oh, I'd get hurt no matter what I'm wearing," Molly told him, slightly sheepishly. "I have, like, zero fighting skills."

"Nuh uh," she shook her head. "Not that I've really needed them up till now, either."

"I guess I hide?" Molly wasn't completely thrilled with that as a scenario, no. "Or I wing it."

Unfortunately, she supposed she couldn't argue with that logic. "I don't want you to get hurt protecting me. Besides, don't warriors go into battle?"

"You sound like my dad." So now she was grouped in with foals, baby unicorns, and elders. Terrific. "What's a shoulder-friend?"

"I think so?" She tried to bump his back. "That's sweet. I like that."

"I promise, unless it's safer to stay where I am," she held up her right hand, giggling at his antics.

She went back to scratching his nose. "You're a good friend, Jan."
