Around the Dorms, Wednesday Afternoon

Sam had noticed Joan in the lobby yesterday, and realized he should probably get on with campaigning for the Student Council as well. Since he wasn't really the "sit and give people baked goods" type, he was going around and taping up bright, multi-colored fliers around the dorm, hoping that would be a good start.

[Feel free to catch him while he's working, and pardon my lack of mad Photoshop skillz. ;) AND IT ALWAYS SAID WEDNESDAY.]

Like dogs could smell fear, it was like Turtle could smell competition. She was there as Sam was putting his fliers up, on her way back in from visiting Jeff, and gave him a smile, somewhat tight. "Hey, Sam," she greeted him brightly. "What'cha got there?"

"Oh, me, too!" Turtle commented sweetly, already starting to build up a scale of her competitors thus far. Sam running wouldn't be bad if it was just Sam, because she had liked working with him last year. However, there were other people, and Sam now stood as her biggest competition and a pretty tall order (no pun intended). "It was a lot of fun last year, wasn't it?"

Turtle's smile increased a little. "Maybe," she said, with a tone of bright optimism. "I mean, we definitely have the most experience, you'd think, but don't you think it's a little unnerving? People could very easily see our names on the ballot and feel the need to give someone else a chance, you know?"

"One can only hope," Turtle remarked, hand to her chest. There was actually more sincerity in that than she had expected, but, at the same time, she was hoping that she'd at least successful planted that seed of doubt in Sam's head. It was probably in hers, too, but it was there before. She had to know all her weaknesses; if you didn't, how could you defeat them? "But we have served our class pretty well, I'd say, right? We're in good standing."

"Absolutely. I'll help spread a good word or two about you if you do the same for me?" Turtle offered, trying to look as sweet as possible as she did so.

"Exactly." Another smile, and Turtle thought about asking Sam for one of his fliers to see what was on them, but a quick glance told her what she needed to know. "Well, I'll let you get back to work, then. It was nice seeing you, though. Here's to hoping!" She held up her hands, fingers twisted, crossed in anticipation of luck.
