Especially after encountering Dor, Turtle realized that she had slacked off on this so inexcusably that part of her was feeling she should lose the election just because she had been so slow to the punch. She'd worry about finding that Toby fellow to revoke his remarks later, because, at the moment, a button proudly announcing her campaign, she went around the dorms, putting up her posters. They were clean, colorful posters, a medley of red, white, and blue, with great sparkling stars of glitter:

There was an arrow on the posters pointing down to a small little paper basket built into each one, and each basket contained brochures listing all of Turtle's credentials and experience, among patriotic pictures of eagles and some gremlins to represent her love for the school. It also discussed some of her platforms, like funding for clubs, better cafeteria food (always an important one), and more events to create a deeper connection between the student and the townie populations. There was also a coupon on the back for 50% off any purchase at Turtle & Canary, some buttons for the taking, and some lollipops.

With each poster she put up, she drew in a breath and looked them over, with a faint smile of satisfaction for her work, faint under the heaviness of doubt and worry. She smoothed out the poster, made sure the basket would stay under the weight of the goodies inside of it, and told herself that she just had to keep positive and do her best, and everything would be fine.

She hoped.

"Hi, Amber!" Turtle met her with a bright smile. She knew Amber was an upperclassman, but that just meant instead of pushing the vote, she'd have to push the support. "How's it going? Did you get a sucker?"

"It's going great and no, I didn't get a sucker," she said, grinning cheerfully. "You seem to have it all together, Turtle. Not that I would doubt anything less from you."

"Well, I try," Turtle said, smiling a little and shrugging, as cutely and modestly as she could, and hoping it came off that way. "I really love Student Council and hope to get in, so I'm definitely trying to keep on my game."

"If I could vote for you I would," she nodded firmly. "But since I can't, I can support your efforts."

"That would make you one of the greatest ever," Turtle said, smiling brighter, and drawing in a grateful breath. She certainly hoped that all of the support she was getting from seniors would reflect well on her. If upperclassmen thought she could do well, after all...

She reached into her bag to pull out a button. "You'll need one of these, then. It'll look great on you; the blue will bring out your eyes!"

Amber chuckled and gladly pinned on the button. "Thanks, Turtle! I'll spread the word, and help as much as I can. I'm on my way to town now, so I'll see you later. Good luck!"

"Oh! Wait!" Turtle quickly grabbed a small handful of posters. "If you're going into town," she said, "would you mind taking a few with you and putting them up? I'd really appreciate it, Amber."

"Oh yah, you betcha!" she said rather enthusiastically as she took them. "No problem at all."

"Thanks, Amber!" Turtle said brightly. "I owe you one! Have a good day, yeah?"

"Yah, I will, and no you don't!" she laughed lightly and headed off, calling back over her shoulder, "You have a great day too!"
