Self-Defense Club, the Gym, Monday afternoon

Hoshi waited until everyone was there before she got up to make an introduction. "Hi guys. Welcome to the first meeting of the Self-Defense Club. My name is Hoshi Sato. I started this club because in the past year, I've been attacked by a vampire and had to fight off a vicious monkey that tried to abduct my friend. We'll do some introductions first, because I want to get an idea of what kind of self-defense skills you want to learn. Then, if you've had a weird weekend like I did, you can take your frustrations out on a punching bag."

"Viki," she said with a shrug. "I can use a staff well enough, and I do not remember signing up but clearly I did so I would assume I felt some reason valid to do so."

"I was taking lessons from someone for a few months, but they had to stop. I've taken a few courses on self-defense here. And I learned a bit of boxing when I was a child.

"I'm joining because I'd like to learn more."

Liir looked like he was not having a good day.

"Amber Atkins and I've been taking self-defense lessons from Murdock for the past several weeks and figured a club like this could only benefit what I alreay know. Which is just your average basic fighting skills."

"Dick Grayson," Dick said. "I'm joining because every once in a while this place gets crazy, so it couldn't hurt to learn a little more about self defense. I've had some martial arts training, but nothing too extensive." Dick was a lying liar who lies.

"Cal Stephanides," a hand dragged out of his pocket to lift in a wave. "Joining because," he didn't want to be beaten up by hobos ever again, "it's important to know self-defense, and...well, I guess I've got an okay punch. I'm good at tackling?"

He laughed a bit sheepishly.

"Yeah, I need this club. Bad."

"My name is T.R. Wexler," Turtle announced, "and I am in this club because I believe that self-defense is important. If you cannot defend yourself, then no one will. I have done minor training, but I know how to use a gun and I have one hell of a kick."

Her eyes shifted a bit before she decided to add, "Just as Stephanides over there."

Dick got to stretching. It was going to be weird doing self-defense while holding back, but at least it would be good for him to focus on something other than the weekend's wackiness.

Punching bags

"In martial arts, they teach you to shout with each move because it helps focus your energy," explained Hoshi.

She went to demonstrate. "I am Not!" *punch* "some stupid Airhead!" *punch* "who put up Pictures!" *punch* "all over my dorm Room!" *punch* "of some Guy!" *punch*

He didn't know if it would actually help him, but it did make him feel better.

He'd be sitting over here with a large mug of coffee.
