Self-Defense Club, the Gym, Monday afternoon

Hoshi waited until everyone was there before she got up to make an introduction. "Hi guys. Welcome to the first meeting of the Self-Defense Club. My name is Hoshi Sato. I started this club because in the past year, I've been attacked by a vampire and had to fight off a vicious monkey that tried to abduct my friend. We'll do some introductions first, because I want to get an idea of what kind of self-defense skills you want to learn. Then, if you've had a weird weekend like I did, you can take your frustrations out on a punching bag."

"It might be worth it to learn how to defend yourself if you don't have your staff handy," suggested Hoshi. "I'm sure you'll find some useful things here, so it's a good thing you signed up."

Hoshi couldn't argue there. "Sometimes the best thing to do to avoid trouble is to get out at the right time," she agreed.
