The gym [early evening]

After a few good hours of wallowing, Ben made his way down to the gym to work off his tension in a more productive way.

The punching bag might not be all that appreciative of it, given the way the chain was squealing each time Ben hit it.

"And when he tosses me into the asylum, I'm calling my version of you to get me out," Ben decided. "I don't care how busy and important you are."

"I'd always make time for a Skywalker," he decided, thinking it true. "Besides, I'm sure your dad's seen some weird stuff in his time. He could probably relate."

"He's seen some really weird stuff, but nothing made of fruity pudding," Ben said, laughing.

"Fruity pudding's just this planet's version of weird," Gavin decided. "Just imagine facing one of those instead of a Gamorrean or a Hutt."

"Or a Hutt made out of pudding," Ben said with a slight shudder.

"Might be easier to kill," Gavin pointed out. "Just vacuum him up."

"That's an image that's going to stick with me for a while," Ben admitted. "It might put me off of pudding, too."

Gavin stepped forward and put a hand on Ben's shoulder. "Only you can prevent eating a pudding Hutt."

Ben burst out laughing. "Why did Dad never mention what a dork you are?"

"I don't know!" Gavin said, laughing as well. "He should know. It's not like I kept it a secret or anything."

"Maybe because you're so busy with your part of the Fleet that you don't have time to come to dinner and talk about Pudding the Hutt," Ben teased.

"Well, damn me and being busy," he said. "Though, really, if that version of me isn't thinking of Pudding the Hutt, my version of me, which is weird to say, won't ever forget him."

Ben grinned. "Someday you'll be telling all of your kids about Pudding the Hutt and they will be so, so confused."

"But, just imagine how famous I'll be within the fleet," he joked. "At night, after I'm done leading things, all the children can come sit down with me and I'll tell them stories like I was a famous storyteller or something."

"It's good to have hobbies," Ben said, snickering. "Admiral Gavin's Story Hour will be famous."

"And fun," Gavin said. "And you'll have an open invite whenever you come along in my timeline."

"I'm sure Jacen'll love me borrowing a shuttle to head to your ship for story time," Ben teased.

"He can come too," Gavin decided. "Might loosen him up a bit."

"You'll have to meet him," Ben said. "I don't think anything can loosen him up. He makes Granddad look like a barrel of laughs."

"If he ever makes it here as a student, we'll have to set up a gremlin bite for him," Gavin decided.

"That's an astral idea," Ben said, giggling.

"So, maybe that's an even better idea for dealing with your dad and the thought reading thing," Gavin decided. "Instead of jello dragons, think of Jacen as...a gay magician who wore spandex and thought his droid was a tiger."

Might as well use the one he had experience with.

"Teach him to stay out of my head," Ben declared.

"Exactly," Gavin agreed. "And trust me, he gets a glimpse of what you think of, he won't look again."
