The Range - Girls With Guns [Wednesday afternoon]

Triela was sitting less comfortably than usual as people showed up for the club. This was probably due to the fact that she was wearing a dress, which wasn't something she had done in Fandom before.

Priscilla wasn't a handler, but she was technically an authority figure within the Agency. Her idle suggestion wasn't an order, either. Those two things combined in a way that meant Triela could have fought off the compunction to wear a dress to club, but she'd woken up with some serious nausea, and she knew that fighting her programming would push her over the edge.

So there she sat in a simple white sundress looking oddly out of place and apparently unconscious of the cold.

"I don't think I'd want to tell Priss I gave the dress she bought me away," Triela grinned suddenly. "But I'll definitely keep you in mind if I can ever come up with a good excuse."

"Oh, but she'll think so much better of it if you told her you just got rid of it?" Turtle said, pointedly, grinning back. "If I don't see it at least a few times, though, I'm totally going to insist on borrowing it."

"Well, maybe not," Triela admitted a bit sheepishly.

"But if you ever do want to borrow it, just let me know. I'm sure Priscilla would love it if she knew it was getting some use, even if it wasn't by me."

"Although I think I can guess who she'd prefer was getting use out of it," Turtle said, teasing a little. "So who's this Priscilla person? I can't remember if you've mentioned her to me before."

"Oh!" Triela exclaimed. "I probably haven't. She's an intelligence analyst back at the Agency. She's been there since the beginning, even before they commissioned Ange."

Triela grinned. "She's so girly."

"In that case," Turtle said, "you got off easy. I can only imagine how much frills and lace and pink you might have had to suffer through."

"Yeah, well, as silly as she is sometimes, Priss has a pretty good fashion sense." She leaned over toward Turtle and lowered her voice, "She even made me get some shoes. With heels."

Turtle laughed. "Ooh, heels! I can't even fly with heels. Nothing more than an inch and a half or so. But that's all mostly practical, you understand. You can't kick shins as good in heels."

"It's why I like boots," Triela agreed.

"Me, too!" Turtle said with a laugh. "I have a good pair of steel-toed ones that I use for when I'm really mad."

"We should go boot shopping sometime," Triela declared suddenly.

Turtle grinned, a bit deviously. "I'll totally go boot shopping with you, Triela," she said. "But you've got to wear a dress when we go."

"Hey, no fair!" Triela objected. But it was a grinning sort of objection.

"Totally fair!" Turtle insisted with a laugh. "Besides, then you can write to Priscilla and tell her you wore the dress, and still get some really cool new boots."

"You make a good point," Triela admitted.

She raised an eyebrow, "When?"

"Sometime next week, maybe? How do your Sundays look?"

"My Sundays," Triela declared, "Look like boot-shopping days to me."

"I think we've got a date, then!"
