Fifth Floor Common Room, Monday Noonish

Hurley was making himself grilled cheese sandwiches, but he had enough stuff to make them for other folks, too. He'd had a decent weekend, and was now totally over the whole thing with his mom being mad at him.

Besides, Ino had come up with a brilliant idea for when his mom actually did come to visit Fandom (if she ever did), so that problem was... no longer a problem.

He would sit down and thumb through a book on flowers after he was done cooking. But for the time, armed with his trusty spatula, Hurley engaged in his culinary urges.

"Are you making something?" Jeff wanted to know, as he followed the smells towards the source they... usually came from. "That smells like cheese!"

He might've been a little hungry.

"Yeah, dude," Hurley said. "Grilled cheese sandwiches. You want some?"

"I like grilled cheese," Jeff decided, aloud, which was apparently an answer. "I mean, there are greater lunch products, but they've got a bit more potential for injury."

"Exactly," Hurley said, flipping a sandwich over in the pan. "Plus they're super easy. And tasty."

"You should try adding a bit of tomato," Jeff said, helpfully, "I hear that's good."

Hurley thought about that for a moment. "Dude, that would be good," he said. "But I don't have any tomatoes."

Turtle bounced up to him at a moment when she felt he was sufficiently distracted by food. "Hi, Jeff."

Jeff grinned up at her with sandwich-stained teeth. "Turtle!"

"I see you're taking advantage of the lunch-ish-ness as well," Turtle observed, with a smile. She was thinking of greeting him with more of a kiss, but she wanted to eat her own sandwich, thank you very much, and not her boyfriend's, from his mouth. Ew.

"Well, you know," Jeff said, shrugging a bit, "Class was about eggs, I got a bit hungry. And I'm not certain mister Minsc would take it well if I ate my egg."

"This is what, magical creatures?" Turtle asked, and then scrunched up her face. "Yeah, not a good idea. You might get a dragon egg, and then get terrible heartburn."

Mac peeked over his shoulder at what he was doing as she searched out a mug. "Lunch already?"

Occasionally her mun she thought it was a good idea to actually leave her room. In this case, even her own floor. It was ostensibly to get coffee, but she could fit some form of socialization into that.

"Yeah," Hurley said. "You want a sandwich? They're, like, extra cheesy."

Mac shook her head, offering him a little smile. "I'm into my bad 'not eating until mid-afternoon' habits," she told him. "It's difficult to actually get out of."

"But, nice of you to offer," she added politely. "I'll have coffee ready in a minute if you're into that?"

"Dude," Hurley said. "That can't be healthy. The... not eating thing, I mean."

"I had breakfast," Mac assured him. "It's really not as bad as it sounds."

Turtle gave her a little wave. "Hey, Mac," she said. "How goes it?"

"Turtle," she returned, twitching her fingers in a return wave. "It... goes alright, I think. Having a first period class on a Monday is wrong, but otherwise..." Mac shrugged lightly. "You?"

"No complaints!" Turtle said. "So long as we don't talk about the economy, anyway. I'm just glad I didn't have to go all the way down to the cafeteria for lunch today."

"And when you think about the rumors of cafeteria food, that becomes an even better plan," Mac agreed.

"I smell lunch!" Turtle commented, following her nose down the hallway into the common room with a bounce. This saved her the trouble of going all the way down to the cafeteria.

"Good thing I had extra bread," Hurley said with a chuckle. "Hey Turtle. Got any special demands for your sandwich?"

"You just making grilled cheese?" Turtle asked, tilting her head as she took a peek at what Hurley was working on. "If so, then, nope! Can't beat traditional with grilled cheese!"

"Traditional, good," Hurley said. "Jeff kinda wanted tomato added, but I didn't have any tomato."

Turtle wrinkled her nose slightly. "That's okay," she said. "I'm not too big a fan of tomatoes, anyway. I'm sure there's some in the third floor common room, though. Chad's always eating them, it's kind of weird. I could hop down there and grab some if you want?"

She was feeling helpful today.
