Fifth Floor Common Room, Friday Evening

Alice was incredibly bored. And as such, she was going to wander into her Common Room and see if anyone else had found something interesting to do.

She was not expecting for the furniture to suddenly grow to be twenty, thirty, forty feet tall! No, wait, it was her who had shrunk, the moment she had passed through that doorway.

"I don't recall any bottles," she frowned. She might have remembered that, one would think.

Instead, she gave the doorway a curious eye, and stepped into the hallway once again ... and the world around her shrunk to its normal size, and she was five-feet-eight once more.

"Curiouser and curiouser."

Well. A proper adventure. Alice walked back into the common room and surveyed the gargantuan furniture around her.

"There was a remote around here somewhere," she announced. This was certainly more delightful than being bored.

Agnes had been feeling a bit bored, and so for lack of anything better to do was attempting to find as many kinds of chocolate as she could. She had quite a variety already, stashed in her hat which she was carrying around in both hands. (The pointy end was very good for storage.) As she entered the fifth floor common room to see what delectables awaited, she was surprised to find herself shrunk.

"Oh, MY!" she exclaimed, trying to get her bearings.

"Excellent, it isn't just me at all," Alice beamed. "I had thought it might be. But I haven't seen any bottles or mushrooms. I think it's the door."

"Bottles or mushrooms?" Agnes asked, distracted. She looked around the room with a bit of awe. "No, I suppose this is just 'Fandom weirdness'."

"If you see a bottle that says 'Drink Me,'" she advised, "don't drink it. Or do drink it, so long as there are very small cakes nearby that say 'eat me,' that you might return to yourself and not be trapped as a small creature forever."

"Oooh, potions that change your size?" Agnes asked curiously. "I don't suppose you know what was in them, do you?" It might be fun to brew up something like that!

And if you could make the chocolate a lot bigger, you might not stuff it all in your face tonight!

Hurley entered the common room and instantly yelped.

"...dude, what happened?"

"You shrank," Agnes told him flatly, with a bit of a smirk. "Would you like a chocolate?"

Hurley was startled enough that he had to take a moment.

"...please," he said.

Agnes held out her hat for him to take one. "Are you all right?"

Hurley snagged a chocolate. "I just shrunk," he said. "This is kinda, like, way new for me."

"Fandom's amusing itself again," Alice noted, folding her hands behind her back. "Unless you noticed any bottles that said 'drink me.'"

"...At this school, I would totally not drink anything that asked me to," Hurley said.

"Then I fear you shall miss a great deal of adventure," she replied. "Though perhaps you will stay safer than the alternative."

"Well, looks like adventure finds me okay anyway," Hurley said. "We... we're not going to be stuck like this, right?"

Reno had a Friday evening, he was out of booze, and really had nothing better to do than wander around the dorms with a ferret slung over his shoulder, looking around for the action.

He was not expecting the action to leave him five inches tall, with a gigantic, somewhat baffled ferret sitting next to him.

"If I'm an action figure again," he grunted, "I'm gonna kick somethin', yo."

Mako sniffed at him curiously.

"Not you."

"Well, THAT'S interesting," Agnes mused. "I wonder why your vermine stayed big?"

"Hey! He ain't vermin. He's..." Reno glanced at Mako. Mako honked. Helpfully. "A weasel."

... Okay. Maybe he was kind of like vermin. A little.

"You're small too, huh? What, this room got some kinda freakin' curse on it?"

"I'm terribly sorry," Agnes told him. "A vermine is a kind of rodent, where I'm from, that looks a little like your weasel. Although he's a bit more like a bear at the moment, isn't he?"

"A tube-shaped, somewhat smelly bear," Reno agreed, "who can't run in a straight line to save his life."

Mako was terribly confused by all the little people in the room. That one there smelled like daddy. Who was this?

Time to sniff at Agnes! New person! Yay!

"Welcome!" Alice said. "To the Common Room of Great Adventure. Or very, very small adventure. Does your weasel talk?"

She was curtsying. To the weasel. It wouldn't do to upset someone far, far bigger than her.

"Nah. He just honks. And chews on shit." Reno smirked while Mako snuffled down the back of his neck, blowing his hair around with gusts of wee curious ferret breath. "He's got breath like somethin' just died under his tongue, too."

Reno turned and gave Mako a pat on the forehead.

"Been a while, Alice. How you doin'?"

"Perhaps something did," she laughed. "Die, that is, under his tongue. Perhaps he conquered a mighty spider or beetle or the like."

She bobbed him a quick curtsy, as well. "I'm well, thank you," she said. "And yourself?"

"Whoa, giant ferret," Hurley said, mesmerized a little.

"Giant, kinda stupid ferret," Reno agreed, glancing at the other guy. "Or is it us who got small? I'm thinkin' that's the case. The room's freakin huge, yo."

Hey! A new person! A new LITTLE person! Mako was going to have to toddle over to investigate! Hiiiii!
