Self Defense Club, The Gym, Monday Afternoon

When everyone showed up at the gym today, they'd notice that Hoshi wasn't the one in the front of the room. "Hey everyone," Adam offered a small wave. "I'm Adam. Hoshi asked me to cover for her today, as she had some things to take care of."

There were a variety of objects laid out on a table in the front of the room -- there was a baseball bat, a set of keys, a CD case, just to name a few. "Basically any object you have in your room or on you, can be used as a weapon. I've been studying martial arts for my whole life and there's been a time or two where I've managed to use my gym bag to help me out in a situation," Adam explained. "Even the smallest of objects can help you out," he added, gesturing to the keys. "I'd like you all to consider what you have in your dorm room that could be counted as a weapon."

The punching bags were out again. "And if you feel like it, you can go a round or two with a punching bag."

Because you don't want to end up pulling something. Ouch.

Cal and a little grey Amber-kitten with a purple ribbon 'round her neck settled in and did some stretching together, the kitten part of the duo looking ridiculously cute in the attempts. "You know," Cal remarked at one point in the warm up, "you could probably be considered as a weapon. Cat in the face!"

Turtle took care to stretch exceptionally well; she planned to get in a good workout to help fight off the ridiculous amounts of food that she'd eaten at the wedding.

Tony didn't really know how to stretch, but he watched the others and imitated what they did.

She wasn't really in the mood, but as she found herself about here, and it was where she was scheduled to be (and how odd was that, really?), Viki figured she might as well stretch.

What could you use as a weapon to help defend yourself?

Turtle considered the question for a moment, and then piped in with an option, "I bet you could whale on someone pretty hard with a file box."

"That could work," Adam nodded, feeling bad for whoever ended up with that fate.

"Drop the bed on them," Viki said cheerfully.

Feel free to partner up or go at it alone.

Holding the Amber-kitty up to the punching bag so that she could make futile little swipes at it while Cal giggled his butt off totally counted as practice.

He's there, if you need anything.

Once he pings in.

He was there, just watching.
