Fourth Floor Common Room [evening]

Having had a rather...eventful day (it wasn't every afternoon that a girl hatched a tiny girl with snakes for hair out of an egg, after all), Aravis was curled up comfortably on a couch in the fourth floor common room with a cup of tea.

Somehow the colder weather wasn't helping her mood, either.

Nor was the programming on the television. "I don't understand why we're supposed to care about any of these people," Aravis sighed, blowing onto the surface of her tea so that the steam would rise into her face, because in her opinion, that was far more interesting than Rumor Gal.

There was nothing Cal could say to that that wasn't just dirty.

He let out a laugh as he tried to figure out something else to say, failed, and just shook his head.

"Yes," he confirmed. "Yes they do."

"I don't think," Cal mused, tilting his head and trying to glean off a little more of the character's personality, "she would agree with you there. At least about the terrible gift part."

"But she does so in such dulcet tones! And looks adorable while doing it."

Cal laughed at the admission, shaking his head. "Flaily fair-headed giant," he repeated. "I like that. Kind of poetic. But the flaily fair-headed giant has something that the ribboned neurotic schemer does not."

"I was thinking low-cut tops," Cal admitted, ducking his head with a slightly embarrassed laugh. "But I like your answer a lot better. A lot."

Cal was never going to look at a warhorse the same way again, which worked out because he wasn't exactly in the habit of looking at warhorses often.

"What? Her husky, inarticulate stumbling through words doesn't quite do it for you?"

"I like the way you think," Cal said, thinking once more of warhorse legs and deciding that he liked that quite a lot.
