The Deck, Friday evening

Blair had spared nothing to make sure Eric's party was set up. And by "spared nothing" we mean "paid people to make that happen because Blair Waldorf doesn't do service work."

A temporary stage had been set up for the burlesque show. Shirtless cater waiters milled about, ready to supply guests with drinks and food. A cake had a lovely central location. Large heating lamps were placed to help ward off the chill.

Projectors had been set up to show classic films starring Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Cary Grant, and the like. They played silently so as not to drown out the music which was a mix of modern and 30s and 40s dance.

Blair was dressed up in her best Audrey Hepburn look and surveyed the results of her handiwork. It would do.

[ooc: OCD is up! Come get your party on! All are welcome!]

When he'd seen a sign for a shirtless party, Toby knew he had to show up. With this setup, he was damn glad he had. He could only hope there were other attractive boys in attendance.

Angela still wasn't feeling quite back to her normal self, but enough so that she was not going to miss a party, even if she was only intending to sit on the sidelines.

Being ill most of the week had left her without a real costume, but she did have a dress (http://www.boden.co.uk/col.asp?segname=Women&styid=WH131&segid=6&gpname=Dresses&desname=Knitted+Jewelled+Dress&gpid=6&gen=1#zoom_viewer) that she hoped would keep her relatively warm.

Hannibal...didn't really have a favorite classic movie start but he wore a suit and tie as a catch all. Hopefully that would work.

Lee had nothing better to do so he showed up nicely dressed but not in costume since he really had no idea about classic movie stars.

Still, well dressed.

Okay, so Amber had been a kitten for the past week. Tonight totally meant it was time to unwind from that and get her party on. No, she didn't know the birthday boy, but that didn't mean anything, right? Of course not. She looked cute in a little black sequined dress (http://www.kirstendunstforum.com/wallpaper/dunst1501152x864.jpg). After being a fuzzy kitten, she definitely felt cute and that's what mattered.

Chuck was obviously there, sans Sweetie, and was dressed in his very best Cary Grant-esque wear.

He waved at several of the burlesque dancers he knew when he came in. There was fun to have with them later.

Eric arrived, collie!Myn tagging along behind, tail wagging excitedly. "Whoa," he said, looking around. He ogled -- quite openly -- one of the passing male waiters. Shirtless male waiters.

"... Whoa," he repeated. This was... not at all what he'd expected. And yet, he really should have known; Blair was responsible, after all.

Turtle didn't really know Eric, but a party was a party, and so, of course she was there. She hadn't really had a particular movie star in mind, but she did make sure she looked pretty nice.

Chad would not be able to deal with missing a sibling's birthday party, though he was a little late, due to work.

Tony managed to put together a fairly decent Sam Spade outfit using a few lucky thrift store finds.

Kaylee was on the VIP list! Or so Chuck had told her. She didn't know what that meant, aside from 'Very Important Person,' but she was pretty sure it was a good thing.

She hadn't been able to figure out what 'old Hollywood' meant, but when she'd gotten her dress (http://www.edressmeprom.com/prom12949.html), the clerk had told her it was very classic and old Hollywood-ish. Whatever that meant.

[ducking out for a RL birthday party, so SP is the name of the game omg.]

Re: Presents!

[identity profile] rocksthescarf.livejournal.com 2008-11-15 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Chuck had left two wrapped gifts for Eric. One was a gift (http://www.worldofwatches.com/detail.asp?bo_products_variance_id=61190) that could actually be opened in public. The other was a rather large box filled with several handwavy sex toys and lubes that Chuck thought Eric would appreciate. What could he say? He was a good friend.

The note left with it read: Have fun. - C

There was a birthday card from Turtle which also included a $50 gift certificate for Turtle & Canary; man, she loved how easy it was to give presents around here.

Amber left Eric a twenty-five dollar gift card for Turtle and Canary. Hopefully it would come in handy. They sold practically everything there. Whoo, for easy gifts!

Angela picked herself out a comfortable lounger and settled in to watch shirtless waiters people and enjoy the whole ambiance of the party.

She got the sense she could enjoy tonight, despite still being a little on the coldy side.

Toby spent a lot of time flirting with shirtless waiters. He even looked like he could be one of them. Other than the lack of food and drink in his hands.

Quietly amused, Amber settled in a comfy chair to watch the show and people. The shirtless waiters weren't so bad either. Not that she was staring overly long or anything. Nope.

After grabbing some food, Hannibal found an empty spot of wall to lean against and enjoy the ambiance.

Lee decided he was just going to walk the perimeter of the room, keeping himself moving and busy.
