The Deck, Friday evening

Blair had spared nothing to make sure Eric's party was set up. And by "spared nothing" we mean "paid people to make that happen because Blair Waldorf doesn't do service work."

A temporary stage had been set up for the burlesque show. Shirtless cater waiters milled about, ready to supply guests with drinks and food. A cake had a lovely central location. Large heating lamps were placed to help ward off the chill.

Projectors had been set up to show classic films starring Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Cary Grant, and the like. They played silently so as not to drown out the music which was a mix of modern and 30s and 40s dance.

Blair was dressed up in her best Audrey Hepburn look and surveyed the results of her handiwork. It would do.

[ooc: OCD is up! Come get your party on! All are welcome!]

"Of course I did," he said. He looked down at the dog. "Looks like I wasn't the only one to get a pet this week."

Eric made a peculiar face, half-wince, half-laughing. "He's my boyfriend," he explained. "He turned into a dog last night. I didn't feel comfortable leaving him alone in the room, 'cause he's been acting really dog-like."

"I can relate," Chuck replied, shooting a rare sympathetic glance towards Myn. "Well...you can use my gifts at a later date then."

"... Gifts?" Eric asked.

Why, why did something about the way Chuck said that make Eric very, very nervous?

"Yes, gifts," Chuck said, looking positively evil. "It is your birthday, after all."

"Why am I suddenly very, very afraid?" Eric asked, eyeing Chuck nervously. "Is there a box I shouldn't open here, then?"

Chuck smiled and moved to put an arm around Eric's shoulders. "Oh, Eric, who am I to decide what you should or shouldn't open in public?"

"... Okay, not opening your gift in public," Eric said, but he was laughing as he said it. He leaned into the half-embrace, just a little.

Chuck snickered and squeezed his arm around Eric. He really wished that he could tell him about their parents dating. This whole brotherly aspect was getting to Chuck.

"Probably a wise decision," he said. "But, trust me, you'll enjoy what I got you."

A spark flared up in Eric's eyes, and he couldn't help but grin at Chuck. "Will Myn enjoy it, too?" he asked.

"Of course he will," Chuck assured him. "I got you all sorts of...things."

"Okay, yeah," Eric said, his grin getting even wider. When he opened the package, there would be much flailing, but for now he was just going with it. "Definitely not opening it here."

Chuck snickered again and released his hold on Eric so he could take a sip of his drink. "Like I said, probably a wise decision."

Eric took a sip of his own drink; then, thoughtfully, he looked down at it. "... Are these spiked?" he asked. "D'you know if they are, I mean."

"Well, I should hope so," he said. "Mine's real, if that's what you're asking."

Chuck would be terribly disappointed in Blair if she hadn't got real liquor for a party.

"Cool," Eric replied, taking a larger drink. "I haven't... Well, Mom's always thrown my birthday parties before."

He thought that would explain a few things.

Chuck grimaced. "Yeah. I understand."

"Consider this as a sign to party twice as hard tonight," Chuck suggested.

"You going to help with that?" Eric asked, with a grin.

"It's what I do best, isn't it?" he replied.
