Third Floor Common Room, Tuesday Afternoon

With the cold and his so-called 'class' being what they were, Arthur could no longer avoid spending at least some time within the dorms. So he took a broom into the common room, perched it somewhere against a wall nearby, and then cast a questioning eye over the room's contents.

At least a chair was a chair no matter where you went. He took a seat, a great, big, space-claiming seat, and leaned the elbow that wasn't contained by the sling on the arm of the chair. From that position, he took careful stock, including a wary one of the black box that rested in the room.

The locals seemed to have a thing about boxes.

"Leto!" Turtle greeted him with a smile. "Hey, how's it going? Adjusting okay, still?"

"I believe I am," he said with a smile. "I also had my first class today, and found it quite helpful. And I hope the influx of new people have been interesting for you."

"Very," Turtle said with a grin. "New student time is always interesting, especially since we usually get in a pretty wide variety. Which class did you have?"

"Ethics for professor Skywalker. We discussed self-sacrifice." He added: "So what are the extremes in this wide variety?"

"Well," Turtle reasoned, "there's, on one side, people like yourself who are from entirely different worlds, or then there's...well, if you've seen how she dresses, I'm reluctant to say like Claudia, but she is from Connecticut, which is pretty 'average,' if you're from this world, like me."

He grinned. "So, different kinds of extremes. How does she dress? I am completely uneducated when it comes to the local fashion." Which meant he ignored any kind of formal clothing and wore only a pair of loose brown trousers.

"Very....different," Turtle offered, and shook her head. "That's kind of all I can offer, but I could be wrong; I've never been that into fashion or anything."

"I might not even notice," Leto admitted. "My stepmother, who was a student here once, said that people used to be surprised by her hats."

There was a long pause.

"Oh my God," Turtle said, "I think I know who you're talking about."

It was really hard to forget those hats, after all.

"Her name is Irulan Corrino," he said. "She's been responsible for the upbringing of my sister and I since our parents died. She was the wife of my father."

"And I remember when she went here," Turtle said, nodding a little with a sideways smirk. Then she shook her head. "That's really weird to kind of think about."

"That time can pass so differently? Yes, it is." After a brief pause, Leto continued: "But you mentioned the other day that you planned to study law. Is there a particular place to do that in your world?"

"Oh, tons," Turtle said with a nod. "There are a bunch of universities all over this world. The three best are probably Harvard, Princeton, and Yale; I've got my eye set on Harvard."

Leto smiled. He had to keep an eye on this girl. Eventually he would need advisers, and what better if a few of them were from other worlds. "Any particular reason?"

"It's the best?" Turtle offered, the corner of her mouth going up in a smirk. "Some people will contest that, but I'd put good money down on the fact that the majority of people saying that simply didn't get into Harvard."

Laughing, Leto replied: "And I have no knowledge on the matter, so I will have to trust your opinion."
