Third Floor Common Room, Tuesday Afternoon

With the cold and his so-called 'class' being what they were, Arthur could no longer avoid spending at least some time within the dorms. So he took a broom into the common room, perched it somewhere against a wall nearby, and then cast a questioning eye over the room's contents.

At least a chair was a chair no matter where you went. He took a seat, a great, big, space-claiming seat, and leaned the elbow that wasn't contained by the sling on the arm of the chair. From that position, he took careful stock, including a wary one of the black box that rested in the room.

The locals seemed to have a thing about boxes.

Of course he was. But she had to ask: "Sliding or regular Albion?"

He stared at her. "Sliding?" Arthur asked, "Is this another one of those ridiculous words you people expect me to just know off the top of my head?"

Oh, good. "Albion's an old name for England, so congratulations, you're English. Sliding Albion is England in an alternate reality. I married a prince from Sliding Albion once," she added. "But then he tried to kill me and take over my reality."

Jenny was giving serious thought to the bragging rights attached to shagging the Once and Future King, but it did not show on her face.

England. Alright then. He added the above to his mental database and, as per usual when 'realities' and 'worlds' were mentioned, utterly failed to understand some fundamental part of it. "I solemnly swear," he said, dryly, "That I won't marry you or try to take over your 'reality'."

"Oh, no worry there, I wouldn't get married again if you paid me," Jenny told him. She wasn't too concerned about him trying to take over her reality. He'd get squished like a bug.

"Then I believe we're in agreement there," he said, with a bit of a grin, "No marriage. I do not."

"It only ends in tears and attempted murder," Jenny said.

She was totally talking about her own marriage. She swore.

He'd believe it if she did, too.

"Probably a good thing that I escaped that trap," he said, "Although, now I have to wonder: does that mean you like me?"

Somewhere, Morgana was calling him an intolerable prat.

"Well," Jenny said. "You're blond, you're English, you're quite attractive, and you seem to have a bitchy streak. How could I not?"

"How could you not, indeed."

And now she was ranting about his oversized head.

"I have to admit," he said, "The straightforwardness in this place does occasionally have its good sides."

Jenny wondered if 'fancy a shag' would be too straightforward for a probably-medieval Englishman. Probably yes. Pity. "It does come in handy."
