The Lobby, Tuesday evening

The rain was *still* dripping down, so Dinah had decided to play practice with her new purchases in the lobby instead.

The Room-a-rang bounced off the couch, hit the banister railing, cornered off the fish-tank, then zipped back toward Dinah... landing a couple feet short of where she stood.

"Arrrgggh."

This might take a while.

"I love it here," Hurley said. He carefully approached Pedro. "This place? Like, the best thing ever."

Dinah paused to beam at him, a fellow fan of Fandom. "I totally totally get that. I've only been here a little while, and it's so cool. Where are you from?" She reached over, and Prince Oscar Pedro mrrr'd a warning, then relaxed as she stroked his spine. "Goooood kitty." His eyes closed and he arched his neck, and Dinah made frantic motions with her other hand toward Hurley.

"Santa Monica," Hurley said. He made a quick move to try and grab the room-a-rang. "California. But... 1994. Or... 1995, now, I guess."

"Wait, what?" Dinah said, temporarily distracted. Oscar Pedro opened his eyes and miaowed a complaint, but lost his grip on the Room-a-rang, then went boneless when Dinah petted him a bit more. "Seriously? Like Cal's from the seventies? So you're really, like thirty or something?"

"I'm seventeen," Hurley said. "Almost eighteen. But yeah, there's possibly a me in Santa Monica, this time, all... 31, I guess."

With Cal, the seventies were so far in the past that she hadn't even thought of that, but with this guy, it was recent enough to be weird. "That's so wild." Prince Oscar Pedro cuddled up closer to her, and she nudged the Room-a-rang over to Hurley with her knee, dragging the cat farther away from it.
