Tony had the DVD for Harry V and a box full of doughnuts from J, GOB, because he couldn't think of any good reason to not have doughnuts for dinner. He put the movie in and flopped down on the couch with the remote.

Dinah nodded and said, "Kick-boxing. And my sister was teaching me escrima stick fighting, before I left. I've only had about a year or so, but it's fun. They only have a cheerleading squad here, did you hear?"

"No. Who're they cheering for, then?"

"Themselves? I guess." Dinah shook her head, a little mystified. "Like those squads on ESPN and Sports Night?"

"The competition things. That's . . . pretty cool, actually. Cheerleading for cheerleading's sake."

Dinah grinned at him. "You could be on the team. They need boy cheerleaders too, don't they?"

"Huh. Maybe. You get to pick up cute girls in short skirts, right?"

Dinah managed to swallow a giggle, but not a grin. "Yup? And throw them around too. Well, the tiny ones." She blinked, suddenly imagining Priestly in the shorts those guys wore. Wowza.

"I could do the 'hawk in the school colors. Blue and yellow, right?"

"Oooo. That would look kind of awesome," Dinah said, then brightened again. "And I was going to borrow some blue hair dye from you! Do you have any extra?"

Priestly laughed. "I practically had to pack an extra suitcase just for hair color."

Actually, he really had packed an extra suitcase. That he hid from his mother.

"Awesome! What room are you in? Maybe I can stop by tomorrow, or after class on Monday?" Dinah looked hopeful. "Or I'm in 312, if you want to stop by."

"Cool. Any particular shade of blue you're hoping for?"

"Hmmm!" Dinah pulled a strand of her hair forward to look at it, then decided, "Maybe bright blue? Pale blue might not be noticeable, if I just do streaks to see if I like it."

"I've got some pretty bright stuff. Not, like, electric, but enough to be noticeable."

"Cool!" Oh, this was going to be great. Dinah thought of something else. "And I can wash it out so my sister doesn't find out if I see them on Spring Break? Barbara's a little.. conservative."

"Can't change the color daily if it doesn't wash out."

Dinah laughed. "True! You dye it different colors every day? Doesn't that take a while?"

"I mostly use colored gels and stuff. I don't think it takes any longer than most people take getting ready."

Dinah wouldn't have cared much, because she was pretty willing to try anything that would potentially make her look cool. The big dork.

"I wish I had the nerve to pierce something other than my ears. But they'd be bad to have while I was sparring."

"That would work," Dinah said thoughtfully. "I'll bet there's something like that at Turtle & Canary."
