Second Floor Common Room, Wednesday Evening

It was time for Darkest Night and so Firekeeper and Blind Seer were curled up on their usual spot on the couch, with chips and some of the sweet fizzy drink to snack on while they watched tonight's episode- something about a board game with an evil curse on it.

"Hey!" Tony said as he joined her - them - on the couch. "How's it going?" He had his own soda and a freshly nuked bag of popcorn.

"I am well," Firekeeper said. "And we is having a class together, this time!" Just in case he hadn't noticed.

"Movie class!" Tony grinned. "That's going to be awesome. Lemme know if you need any help studing for it."

"I will maybe be needing help if we have to do writing," Firekeeper admitted sheepishly.

Tony made a face. "Ugh, I hope not," he said. "Best way to ruin a good class."

"Exactly my thinking!" Firekeeper said triumphantly, glad that at least someone agreed with her.

"At least we can watch lots of stuff," Tony said. "And you can totally get caught up on pop culture!"

"This is a good thing," Firekeeper nodded. "Four moonspans and still there is many things I find confusing."

Tony nodded. "There's a lot to take in. Anything I can help with?"

Firekeeper frowned thoughtfully. "What is a frat boy?"

"A 'frat' is a club. It's short for 'fraternity'," Tony explained. "Usually frats are just excuses for guys to get together, drink beer and make crude comments about women to prove their heterosexuality. A 'frat boy' is a guy who acts like that."

"Hey, guys." Tahiri looked rather more cheerful these days, and she flopped down onto an empty spot of couch. "What's going on?"

Firekeeper snorted. "I have met some who would say this is a good way to spend time," she remarked, thinking of Barnet Lobster and the other Bright Bay sailors who'd shared her captivity in Liglim.

"Well, nothing wrong with a little beer and partying," Tony allowed. "Who's a 'frat boy'?"

"Hey!" Tony gave her a small wave. "Vampire detective show."

"Are vampire detectives different from other kinds of detectives?" asked Tahiri.

"Well, they drink blood," Tony said.

"Tahiri!" Firekeeper greeted cheerfully. "Television stories!" Yeah, she was totally addicted to this show.

"Oh," Tahiri said nonchalantly. "Okay. But other than that, just a detective?"

"Sookie say Emmett," Firekeeper shrugged. Blind Seer, predictably enough, growled slightly at the mention of Emmett's name.

"You're way excited about it," Tahiri observed. "Got hooked on this one, huh?"

"Yes," Firekeeper admitted, color rising to her cheeks. "Is Tony's fault," she added, mock-accusingly.

Recalling that she hadn't exactly minded staring at the hot vampires, even when fungus-covered, Francine wandered down to the 2nd floor again this week. If her jeans and t-shirt looked a little 'last clean clothes in the back of the closet, do you really want to wear those, you were two inches shorter the last time they appeared in public' well, yeah. She was putting off facing down the washing machines for as long as possible.

Still, she was cheery enough when she came in during a commercial and found a bare space to plop down in. "Hi! Did I miss the beginning?" she asked.

"Hey, I'm not judging," Tahiri exclaimed, holding her hands up. "You just seem to be adapting to the whole technology thing pretty well."

"Not much. Only the part before opening music," Firekeeper shrugged.
