Tuesday Afternoon: The Roof

Jamie had the required gear all set up on the roof but was double checking everything to make sure it would safe for him and his little sib... or anyone else who decided to show up.

After all rappelling down the dorms wasn't an everyday occurrence.

[For the little Sib and anyone else who wants to rappel down the dorm walls on a cold day.

Dinah waved to the guy she didn't know, lit up with glee. "Jumping!"

Well, there was a happy blond if ever Reno had seen one.

It was kind of like an epidemic, where Fandom was concerned. Wasn't it?

"Jumpin's cool. If it wasn't for all the harnesses an' junk, here's where I'd be tellin' you it ain't worth it, you got too much to live for, right?" He smirked and leaned over to peer off the edge. "Eh. Drop from here ain't all that bad anyhow."

"We'd probably live," Dinah said, nodding optimistically. "And we might not even break anything, if it's only the third floor or so!" She grinned. "I'm Dinah. Jamie's Little Sibling."

"Name's Reno," came the reply as he worked on securing his own equipment. Sure, he wouldn't die from a fall like that, but it'd still suck.

Or maybe it would be just the kind of rush he'd been anxious for, and he'd climb up to do it again. It was always so difficult to decide.

"You're new here, huh? You always so happy to go jumpin' off of roofs?"

"They don't let me do it enough at home," Dinah said, trying not to pout. Which was totally true. Helena flipped off fire escapes and made her stay on the ground, how fair was that? "Just the once! So Jamie suggested this and I was all over it."

"Atta girl," Reno chuckled, sticking out his tongue. It was a Reno thing. "Opportunity knocks, you take it. It's a good way to be. You got that harness secure?"

He reached over to check. This was also a Reno thing. Dinah was a newbie, after all.

"I think so?" Dinah turned a little red as the cute guy checked her harness, then looked worried. "I did do it right, didn't I?"

"Looks like you got it good, to me." He gave it a good tug upward, just to be certain, and then he nodded, satisfied. "No worries about droppin' from the roof to the ground."

He grinned, then. "Even if we already established that the fall ain't gonna kill us."

"We," Dinah said grandly, beaming at him, "are way too awesome to die! And Jamie's too awesome and too crazy!"

Reno held up one finger, giving his head a shake while he continued to grin.

"There ain't no such thing as too crazy," he stated, "not when it means 'too crazy' is what leads to 'too fun,' yo. It's a fact. Science said so."

Science probably didn't actually say so, no. But Reno thought it sounded better, that way.

"Science?" Dinah snickered. "Science defined by...?"

"Crazy people," Reno replied without missing a beat. "Just like all science before it, yo."

And then he gave a quick nod of his head, stuck out his tongue again for good measure, and made his way to the edge.

"Ready to jump?"

He had a point.

"Ready!" Dinah looked out and doooooown, and grinned.

"Kickass!" Reno gave one last tug to make sure his equipment was all secure, and then over the edge he went. "I know people always say not to look down, but they're totally missin' the point. Why go climbin' down the side of a buildin' if you don't got the rush of seein' how far you got left to fall?"

Not that they were going to fall. But still.
