Hurley was supposed to meet Penelope here tonight, so she could play the piano.

Whether or not meeting the girl you're dating while you can only blurt out what you're actually thinking is actually a good idea, well, that's another thing.

But Hurley wasn't about to stand her up. He was a man of his word, and he was there.

"I sing sometimes, I'm pretty good at Ping Pong, I play basketball, I watch porn sometimes?" Hurley said.

And his eyes bugged when he said the last one. Oh crap.

Her eyes bugged too because that was all she heard. "Oh."

"Not a lot," Hurley added quickly. "I mean, I have a roommate and stuff. I'm not a pervert, I swear."

"You're a healthy boy. Boys do this, so I've heard."

Oh dear. Her cheeks were on fire.

He looked at naked normal girls. Not girls with pig noses. And she felt almost too tiny next to him to be noticed. In... that sort of way.

"You wouldn't want to see me naked, would you?" Oh, dear.

"I would," Hurley said. "I mean, not yet, you gotta take that sort of thing slow and careful and stuff and oh man, I just told you I want to see you naked."

"No one will see me naked until I'm married," she stated.

Hurley nodded. "That's totally okay. I mean, naked you would be nice, but really not the time for it and oh man why can I not stop saying this sort of stuff today?"

"Not the time for it probably ever," she admitted.

Then she sucked in air and looked at him.

"Can we forget this happened?" Hurley said. His eyes were pleading.

"I don't think that is possible. I can't get it out of my head."

"I didn't want to say any of that," Hurley said. "I'm not that type of guy, I swear."

"If you want to be, Hurley, I don't mind. If you want to date other girls too. I don't mind."

Oh, dear.

"I don't think I would like it very much but we're seeing what happens, right?"

"I don't really want to date anyone else," Hurley said. "I just don't want you to feel like you're gonna hurt me when you find a prettier guy you want to date."

"Your weight is not an issue with me," she told him.

"I'm afraid to commit, Hurley. It will just... end badly."

"I'm afraid too," Hurley admittedly. "Man, when you kept talking about how you were engaged, it scared me. We're, like, too young for that sort of commitment and stuff. But... I mean, I don't want to make you uncomfortable, ever. I just want you to be happy, cause... if I help you be happy, that helps me feel better about myself."

"You make me happy, Hurley. A lot of people here make me happy."

Hurley smiled. "Well, that's all I want. So that's not much to commit to, right? We're just gonna... have fun. And stuff."

"Have fun and stuff. I can do that," she replied.

"I promise, the naked stuff won't ever come up or be a problem," Hurley said.

"No naked stuff. I've never been naked."

...

"Except in the shower."

Hurley just started laughing, because that last bit had totally broken the awkward tension for him.

Which made her giggle and she decided to play a jaunty tune on the piano to work with the laughter.

"I could listen to you play all night," Hurley said.

"Be careful what you wish for," she teased.

"Around here, it might actually happen," Hurley said.
