Shooting Range, Monday Evening
After a lovely if handwaved dinner, Yurika and Romeo arrived at the second part of their date: shooting things.
Yurika sat down to take out her Walther, cleaning and inspecting the gun carefully. "Slap the rules sign on the door?" she asked, looking up with a smile. "I doubt anyone will just wander in, but I guess it's better to be safe than sorry."
[OOC: Yurika's here with theomgmodded! boyfriend, but open range is open.]

"Besides, life's no fun without a little risk."

"I think the island was kinder to me this weekend than it's been the last several times anything like this happened," he commented, because it had been on his mind. "No ghosts of Juliet."

Her father would have been thrilled to have a perfect daughter, but Yurika did her best to stamp down on the resentment. Tomoyo had been a sweet girl, and it wasn't her fault Yurika had Issues.

It was the little things that made her happy, sometimes.
"But I hope she found her Sakura, and your Luke found his home too," Yurika said. "That crush she has on the girl is the cutest thing ever."

And then he carefully steeped to the mark on the floor, took aim, and fired. The bullet pierced the target just a heartbeat from the bullseye.

Yurika took a deep breath, lined up her shot, and fired. She made a face as she peered at the target. "Is that the seven? Seriously? I need to practice more."

It was probably going to get his heart broken someday.

Yurika clicked the safety on her gun, carefully laying it down so she could blow him a kiss.
"I think your flattery is going to get me into your bed tonight," she teased. "But in the meantime, come over here for a moment and help me with my stance? Then I'll let you get back to your own shooting, I promise."

"You're a better shot than I am, I was hoping you could see what I'm doing wrong." Yurika grinned and turned her head just enough to look at him. "I can't exactly step outside myself and be objective."

Yurika didn't need shotguns or rocket-launchers, and she preferred quiet time with Romeo. To her, it seemed like a perfect combination.
She squeezed off three quick rounds, hitting solidly on the eight ring in a close cluster, to the left of the bullseye. "Ahhh! Better! Kinda."

"You slant left," he informed her. "Move your arm closer in and shift your weight, so." He put his hands on her, trying to tug her into position.

"Well, I don't want to kill anyone," she stated firmly. "Especially not by accident. We'll be using non-leathal orbo bullets at work, but I'll still carry my own gun, too. The better aim I have, the better chance I can shoot to wound and not make a mistake."

He frowned a little at what she'd said. "Would you expect to need to shoot that often?"
He might have still been having a few problems processing what she'd be doing.

"I'll be carrying my Walther when I'm off-duty at the STN-J because I'm not stupid, but I'm not planning on needing to use it."
Not any time soon, anyway. If it came to the point she was to take Zaizen into custody, she'd shoot first and ask questions later.
