Second floor common room- Monday night

Brooke was feeling all cooped up in the room- the one where she left the door open all the time- so she made her way out to the common room to get out for a while. Mostly she was channel surfing, though. She paused on Two Shrub Bush for about three seconds, then decided it wasn't worth the facepalming and kept surfing. The gross show with the hot guy who always needed to shower- mmm, hot guy showering- wasn't still on Mondays, was it?

Blair was tired of being cooped up in her room. She tried a common room instead. "Please tell me we're watching something other than Lauren Conrad's latest. If I wanted to expose myself to that much desperation I'd talk to a freshman."

"Oh, ew, no. If I want to watch scripted teen dramas, let's have one that admits to being scripted," she said immediately. "We're looking for boys."

"Pity Rumor Gal is a repeat," Blair said. "Some of those boys are passable, in a Hollywood sort of way."

"A little too clean-cut-looking, though," Brooke said, considering it. "I mean, I'd still hit that, but I like a guy who doesn't look like he's afraid to get a little sweaty."

Really, Brooke? You're going to start talking in half-innuendos today?

"Or dramatic," Blair said. "A girl doesn't mind being swept off her feet."

"Yeah," she said, frowning at the TV. "Do guys actually do that?" Sure, if you were too drunk to walk, maybe...

"They should," Blair said. "A woman wants a leading man who is worthy of her. Sadly not enough of them even bother to audition."

"Maybe they need new agents," Brooke suggested. She had no idea what that even meant.

"Or we need a better talent pool," Blair said. Were there other guys in the room when she said that? Probably. It was Blair. She was including them.

"Gotta hand it to you, that was some good metphoring," she admitted. It was a metaphor, right? Like she paid attention in English class.

"Thank you," Blair said. "It's nice to see I'm not the only one who can spot failure when it comes to boys."

"I think I was in the running for queendom there for a while. Call it the casting couch of suck," she said thoughtfully.

"It's tempting to give up on boys entirely except I have no desire to go to a liberal arts college after graduation," Blair said.

"There is the option of just skipping that college step," Brooke pointed out.

"I'm going to Yale," Blair said, as though Brooke had just suggested the option of cutting off her own head.

"That would definitely make the 'no college' option a non-option," she nodded. Yeah, probably quite a difference between Yale and the whole liberal arts thing.

"There is no other option," Blair said. She would get into Yale if she had to kill someone to make it happen.

"Did you get in already?" she wondered. The no college option was Brooke's only option, so she didn't even really pay attention to how it worked.

"It's all but a done deal," said Blair, who hadn't even applied yet. Though not from lack of desire to.

"So... that's a yes?" Didn't sound like a yes to her.

"Of course," Blair said, hastily. "Where are you going?"

"I'm skipping it," Brooke said, and had absolutely no problem with that. "I figure I already did more than the usual college age experimentation and I already have a business, so I'm going to see where that takes me."

"What kind of business?" Blair asked.

"I'm a clothing designer. My line's called Clothes Over Bro's? It's still a small little thing, but I'm working on getting my stuff into stores and I've got a shot at a fashion show or two coming up, so we'll see."

"My mother's a fashion designer," Blair said. "What sort of clothing do you do?"
