Gym; Wednesday After Classes [ 02/18 ] -- Cheer Practise!

It was Chad's turn to set up for cheerleading practise, which he did pretty easily, as he never had much trouble moving the mats or even lugging around the giant container for Gatorade. In fact, the most difficult thing for Chad was picking out the music. There were a lot of options but, today, he was thinking they needed some rock. If he could make life contain just a little less pop music, he was content.

"Well, I'm glad to hear it," Angela said, possibly just a little puzzled by his need to assert that so firmly.

"And, going very nicely," she confirmed, nodding with a smile up at him. "Yours?"

"Dandy. Swell." Wrong word to use. "Swimmingly! Just a regular old week where I go to class and see friends and all that jazz. Just a typical week in the land of one H. King."

He needed to stop trying so hard.

He really did.

"Ooookay," she drew out after a moment. "You might want to leave out some adjectives if you actually want me to really believe you."

"You don't believe me?" Smart, smart girl.

"I'm just saying, you seem off," she said. "All on edge."

As if to demonstrate that, she stretched to nudge him with one of her feet.

Oh god no, touching! Hannibal tried not to jump back, tried tried tried but he did twitch some. He was so afraid that if she touched him, he'd try to just jump her in the middle of the gym, problems be damned.

"I think you're seeing things," he tried, swallowing.

Wow, twitchy. Oh, come on she knew that was strange and gave him a weird look.

"Yeah, I'm really, really not," she said.

Hannibal facepalmed with both hands and groaned. "I'm having...some issues."

Issues... Right.

"Okay. Anything I can help with?" she asked, still completely oblivious.

"I don't know," he said and actually started blushing, what the hell.

Okay, the blush was kind of cute, even if she wasn't at all sure of the cause.

"Well, I guess you can't really," she said after a moment. You generally didn't until you asked. "Try me," she said, and by that she really meant 'explain'.

"Oh fuck, this is embarrassing," he said and wanted to crawl into a hole and die. "I don't know if I can."

"Can what?" she pressed after a moment.

"And come on, it's me, I've known you long enough I don't think you need to worry too much about embarrassment."

"Oh yes, I do," he insisted and shook his head. "You have no idea."

"Okay, lets put it this way," she said. "I can't try and help, unless you actually tell me what's up." Possibly a poor choice of words. Oh well.

Hannibal glared at her for that. Really had to glare at her for that. "It's fine. I'm sure it's just a temporary thing."

"What was that for?" As far as she could tell, she was getting glares for nothing here.

Okay, he had to stop that because that was unfair and she didn't know. "Sorry. I'm having a bad day. Bad week and taking it out on you and I shouldn't be."

Angela nodded once. "Seriously. Just trying to help here," she said, raising her hands slightly as she sat up.

"No, I know, I know," he said and rubbed a hand through his hair. "And I appreciate it. I really do. I just don't know if you can help me. Well, no, I know you could but I don't know if it would work."

"You have got to stop with the vague," she told him. "It makes it sound worse than it probably is." Or so she assumed, anyway.

"I don't want to get too specific," he said and winced. "That'll make it worse!"

"I really don't see how," she said simply. Angela now had that annoying niggle of curiosity. Damn it.

"Angela, trust me," he said and tried to tell her with his eyes. Of course, that just looked like a lot of blinking. Dammit.

"I trust you," she said after a moment. "You know that."

"Doesn't make me any less curious, though." Especially when he started doing that weird eye thing...
