The Salle, Monday Morning

He'd returned from the cruise safe and sound. While that had given Arthur a great deal to think about, it also meant that he was, in part, grateful to return to whatever semblance of a routine he'd managed to set up. And since he now no longer needed to carry bandages nor slings, life would be far easier.

He felt far less useless. Good.

He arrived in the salle early, never too fond of dawdling, and chose some practice swords for the day.

Dinah got there early, and started stretching immediately. "Hey, Arthur."

No thinking about what she had to tell him later. Nope. Practice. It might be the last one, after all.

"Dinah," Arthur greeted. He gave only a passing thought to the unreality of having these people call him by name. Progress? Perhaps. "Someone will be joining us today."

"Oh? Who?" Dinah quit stretching, and put her practice gloves on, wrapping them around her wrist before crouching down to get out her sticks. "One of the Jedi students?"

Alice hadn't known what to expect, so she lurked in the doorway, vorpal blade in hand. Peering in at Arthur and the other girl, and feeling somewhat awkward.

"Lady Alice," Arthur greeted. His ingrained sense of decorum was showing; he gave her a respectful nod. "Feel free to join us."

"I thank you kindly," she said, dropping him a curtsy in return. Somehow, it only seemed right. "I have not played at fighting in quite a long time. To be truthful, I did more fighting than practicing for such."

Dinah stopped practicing when she saw her and grinned. "Hi Alice!"

Leto couldn't help being curious about how Arthur teaching Alice would go, which meant he had decided to be here. He had picked up a staff and practised some sequences with it, but without much concentration, as that wasn't really why he was here.

Oh, boy. Way to have reason to feel self-conscious, trying to learn. Dinah pushed her hair behind her ear and said, "Hi, Leto."

Alice gave Leto a light smile. "Have you come to join us?" she asked. "Or are you here to see if I shall injure myself in amusing ways? It's quite possible I will."

"Arthur? Um. Do you have a minute? I need to talk to you alone." Dinah surreptitiously rubbed her hands against her work-out pants, and hoped she could remember all the really reasonable things she'd practiced to say last night.

Arthur had been rubbing some stain of something off the palm of one of his gloves. He looked up. "You know," he said, conversationally, "generally, I'm the one who decides when talks are needed."
