Wednesday After Classes, The Gym -- Cheerleading Practice

Savannah was a little more somber than usual as she got to the Gym and set up for practice. She pulled out the mats and made sure they were perfectly aligned. After doing that, she set up a table for the refreshments and then a table with the sign in sheet and the music.

The gym was alive with the sounds of techno as Savannah started stretching out.

"Uh, I can," he said, trying not to stumble too badly. "I mean, I don't know...girl laundry but I'm there and you...haven't been and I'm sure I could do it without shrinking them since I let Chuck take them in the first place."

Hmm. She shook her head, considering that a moment. "Might try and make him do it, though."

"Technically, he just shifted the IOU's in my favour." And seeing Chuck doing something so domestic would amuse her.

Yes, still avoiding the real topic here.

"Chuck's bitchy as a girl and I don't know if I want to make him try and wash your clothes," he answered with a shake of his head. "And now he's got nails and I don't need anymore..."

He cleared his throat.

"I'll just do it, if it comes down to it."

"Anymore what?"

Oh, like she wasn't going to press that one.

"...people hitting me," he finished lamely and cleared his throat again.

Ah. Angela pressed her lips together a little uncomfortably. Made sense.

"Sorry."

"Yeah, well, one was a book and one was a pillow in addition to...the fist," he said and rubbed the back of his neck. "You probably don't need to apologize. Not the first time people have come after me with pitchforks."

"Mmm." She was fairly sure she was the one owed an apology at this point. That didn't stop her from feeling just a little guilty. "At least you can't say they don't go in for variety."

"Yeah, I'm expecting a table any day," he said and then rubbed his eyes in frustration. "Look, can I talk to you? Like...not here?"

He didn't need angry women trying to watch him blunder his way through whatever he was going to do.

She nodded after a beat. "Sure. I think we probably need to."

"Yeah." It was sad that he was thinking of writing things down so he wouldn't fuck anything up. "Are you going to come back to the room?"

"I wasn't planning on staying away forever," she told him.

That would translate as 'yes', then.

"Well, two days," he said and shrugged. "I haven't seen you since...so. I wondered."

"Unexpected slumber party last night," she said, to explain that one at least. "That's all."

And, okay, she had been avoiding when she stayed with Chuck.

"I am going to be back."

"Okay, well. Whenever," he said, nodding and feeling extremely uncomfortable with the fact that he sounded uncertain. "I'll be around so...whenever."

"We'll talk," she promised. "I'll be around too."

"Yeah, okay. I'm, yeah, I'm heading out early. Enough action for me," he said and nodded. "See you around."

Angela nodded, quirking a little smile. "I'll see you later."
