Deck, Saturday Afternoon

It was nice to wake up to a warm day finally. Hannibal had thought the winter would just be everlasting, dumping snow on them whenever it got the urge but it was finally warm. He didn't even mind the clouds that much because warmth meant he didn't have to coop himself up inside anymore. Warmth meant he could stick himself on the deck, in a comfortable chair with his feet up and sunglasses on.

Really, he probably would have been happy to sit on the deck if it had been cold. It was amazing how everything seemed to improve when one's mood was no longer akin to a battered punching bag.

It might not have been the deck of a cruise ship but Hannibal decided this was kinda nice anyway.

"Mine's just a little shorter somehow," Adora mused, tugging at a lock of her hair.

Somehow was a weird word to use there.

"She-Ra's not your friend, is she?"

"No," she said simply with a little shake of her head.

"You and She-Ra actually never have conversations with each other, do you?" Hannibal asked, starting to see things clearer now.

"Never," she agreed, not smiling because she had no idea what his reaction might be when he got all the way to the conclusion.

"You knew about my scar because she knew about my scar because you're...one in the same."

If he was wrong well then she was really misleading.

She nodded, still waiting for the fallout.

Because there had to be a fallout, right?

"Okay, two things. One, I'm still not choosing," he said. "Two, stop answering questions with questions."

There, he just had to get that out.

She laughed, "I think I can manage both of those things. Especially if it means you're not upset?"

"Why would I be?" Hannibal asked, shrugging. "It's not like it's something you can change. So, you're two people who look completely different with different personalities. It's not the weirdest thing I've ever heard."

His perspective was so unique to anything she'd ever heard. "You really think our personalities are that different?"

"Very," Hannibal said, nodding. "You're a lot more grounded, very interested in experiencing things. She-Ra is very...the only word I can think of is floaty. She seems to be more interested in asking questions and giving cryptic answers instead of flat out answering."

"Wow." That gave her new things to think about. "No wonder I always end up confused!"

"You're not the only one," he said and sighed. "She's confused me before. Half the time, I don't know what the heck she's talking about."

"Maybe next time you see her it won't be a problem," Adora said brightly.

"Let's hope not," Hannibal said. "I'll have to buy her another vile drink."

"You realize I drank all of those, right?" Adora verified.

"I know, I was kind of concerned that you were going to die," Hannibal admitted.

"I was a little concerned that I was going to be sick on you," she laughed.
