Gym, Friday After Classes

The gym was decorated in festive blue and gold for the auction the cheerleaders were holding.

There was happy, bouncy music playing as everyone arrived and mingled, and there was a table set up with food and drinks for the attendees to enjoy.

A platform had been set up in one end of the gym and there was a podium with a microphone for the auctioneer.

The "Lunch With A Cheerleader Auction" was about to begin.

"We do," Angela said, nodding. "Which makes you a very man, because you run the risk I might actually have made things in that basket."

She hadn't, but that was beside the point.

"Anything you made has to be better than anything I would have cooked," Chuck told her. "If I made those baskets there'd be nothing in there but booze and Cheetos."

"You're lucky that's not all I put together," Angela said. "I figured if people were going to be paying, I should probably put a little more thought into it than chips and alcohol."

"I wouldn't have been upset if that's all you put in," he said. "I would have even let you have the chips to yourself."

"I'll bear that in mind if I ever need to pack you a lunch again." Angela couldn't really think of another occasion that would come up, but hey.

"So, when are you free for our little lunch date?" she asked, grinning at him.

"You doing anything this weekend?" he asked. It's not like he ever had anything to do. Jobs and the like were for...well, for people not him.

"Aside from intending on spending a large part of it in bed, no," she replied.

"Tomorrow then?" he asked.

Angela nodded once. "Tomorrow would be perfect."

"You in for a real outdoors with a picnic basket type picnic, or something else?" she asked.

Chuck thought about this for a moment. "I can be outdoorsy when I want to be."

Sort of.

"Okay, I won't go hiking or anything but I can eat outside," he clarified.

"If it's not raining," Angela said.

"And I wasn't intending on making you hike out to the preserve, just to eat," she added with a little snicker. "That would be mean."

Chuck smirked. "Even if you wanted to be mean, there is no way I'd let you do that. You'd have to drag me out there."

"I'm sure I could've worked something out," she said, grinning. "But it's easier when I don't have to."

"You underestimate my hate of exercise," Chuck said with a smirk. "But you're right. It's better if we go with the simple route."

"I think you underestimate my powers of persuasion," Angela told him in return.

Or possibly, how well she knew Chuck and things that might motivate him. Whichever.

"I think if it were your powers of persuasion versus my laziness then you're in for a losing battle," Chuck teased.

Angela shrugged. "One day, when you least expect it, I'll have to test that theory."

"You're on," Chuck said, smiling.
